so there Posted September 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Do any of you know if there's a wine shop near the pier in San Pedro? We'd love to bring some champagne and wine on board (how cool that Princess allows this....NCL does not). We'll be flying to LA, and wine in our checked luggage is not an option. I don't look good in Cabernet. :D
coolcat12 Posted September 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2006 I am joining you on this champange quest. We are going on the Diamond Oct. 7. When are you sailing? Oh..and I have been to San Pedro a few times but never found any wine shops. I am flying into LGB and will most likely find something over that away. c-legs Posted September 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Good evening, Really nothing around SanPedro terminal. Buy it at the airport before cabbing it to the pier. Cheers CG ;)
critterchick Posted September 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2006 You could go to the Ocean Market on North Harbor Boulevard, which is about a 10 minute stroll from the pier - N. Harbor runs parallel to the channel. Or you could have your cabbie stop at any grocery store along the way from the airport - Ralph's, Von's, Albertson's - they all carry a big selection of wine & champagne at much better prices, especially the sale items. Even if the cabbie's meter is running you'd probably do better charging through the supermarket than at Ocean. That's the beauty of California's liquor laws - you can find the stuff just about anywhere. Cheers!

donna5 Posted September 19, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2006 The last time we were there, as you walk out to the street from the terminal, go left and less than 1/4 mile is a small strip of stores that also had a rental car office. There was a liquor store(or a store that sold liquor in there).
so there Posted September 19, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted September 19, 2006 thanks for all the information. It looks as though we won't have any trouble finding a bit of bubbly. We're sailing on 20 November. I'm finding it hard not to start celebrating now!
Roses2 Posted September 19, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Having been born and raised in San Pedro, I can tell you it lacks for many things---BUT, it does NOT lack for liquor stores.
