white space on ship floor plans?

We booked an inside cabin for our daughter and her then SO next to one of those white spaces. It was a storage closet for the cabin stewards. Contrary to others they did have a noise problem. Unfortunately for them, at least one cabin steward didn't realize that slamming that door reverberated throughout the connecting cabins. Early one morning our daughter had to tell him in no uncertain terms that if he slammed that door one more time, something was going to have to give. That helped a little but did not completely solve the problem as one of the stewards would go off and leave that door open, which would eventually result in it slamming shut again (we had a little wave motion on that sailing).

So yes, depending on the cabin stewards on that floor, you could have some noise issues if your cabin connects to it depending on what's in that space. Of course, if you're next to someone who doesn't realize that slamming a cabin door disturbs others on the floor (as in they think no one else can hear it or they just don't care), you'll have the same problem anyway no matter where your cabin is.
