Canadians--when is fall color Victoria area?

Yes, we have a beautiful fall in Victoria, at the moment they are taking down the summer baskets along the main streets. However there are lots of gardens full of wonderful color.Including the parliament buildings, and the Empress hotel, just near the docks. If you are walking, Beacon Hill park is a nice spot to visit. If you are going to rent a car, folow the yellow lines along the water front, and it will take you to the "scenic" things here. Also, Tea at the Blethering Place, (Monterey Ave. and Oak Bay Ave) is very good, not as much silver at the Empress, but very good.

Be sure to go to Butcharts that is never a miss. And, another place, is the Royal Roads University in Colwood. It has a castle!

Hope this helps

Enjoy your trip. We know people that have done that one, and they enjoy it.:)

Not just any castle - if you watch Smallville on TV - you will know that this is where Lex Luthor lives ;)

Victoria has fall colours? I thought the only colour it has is GREEN all year long (other than the beautiful flowers of course)!!!!

Hi all: I too live in Victoria.

Be sure to walk to China Town, maybe check out BigBads for a giggle on the way.

China Town has many stores, food places and lots of history. There is one store (I think next to Fan Tan Alley) that looks like it is tiny but you get in and it goes on and on and on! Look for the sign on the window that advises school groups and groups of children of conduct while in the store. Lots of small and large authentic Chinese items from everyday household to keepsakes here.

Big Bads is a pub for fun just up from Victoria's convention centre and on the right side ...... watch out for peanut shells on the floor, staff with a great sense of humour and "things" that drop from the ceiling - keep your eye on the staff if you don't like surprises.:D You will not believe the things folks have hung up in there (clothing, paper bills with messages, jokes, riddles etc. etc.).
