Special Diet

I am sailing in November on Carnival's Victory with my three teenage daughters. I have Celiac's disease and must maintain a gluten free diet. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with special diet needs on board.

You might want to ask this question on the Carnival board, and you definitely should ask your travel agent about this -- that's why they get a commission, to find things like this out for you. They could already know!

For any special dietary requests, you must submit your request in writing, no calls or emails, to Guest Services at the Carnival corporate offices, no later than 30 days before your cruise.

This is what it says in the welcome aboard packet:

Special diet requirements may be requested at least tow weeks prior to sailing. We will do our best to meet your needs; however, there may be limitations. Please reconfirm this request with your waiter at your first meal. Kosher meals are not available.

We had a friend with us on a Princess cruise with the exact same health issue. They were great working with him. He just reminded the head waiter the first night at dinner and they took care of it the whole week.

You should have your TA call now to let them know - don't wait until two weeks before hand. I have sailed with somebody, on Carnival, who had specific dietary needs and they were great with it. Our TA let them know months ahead of time and that first day on the ship the head chef met with him and they worked it all out no hassle at all.
