Royal Palms Beach Resort?

Does anybody have any stories or reviews about Royal Palms Beach Resort? Considering this area on 7 mile beach for a day of R & R!

I would be interested on any info about the Royal Palms, too--as in day passes/ cost/ ammenities. Anyone out there? Thanks!:)

Here's their website. We've not been there (we drove past it many times), but I've read many nice things about the place. If we were to visit GC on a cruise ship, I'd either go to Royal Palms or Sea Grape. Royal Palms is closer to the port area.

We were there about a year ago. There is no charge to use their beach. However, there is NO SHADE and no umbrellas for rent. If you sit at their open air restaurant tables, those do have umbrellas. We alternated between baking in the sun and sitting at a table with a beer. We were never advised that we had to buy food to sit at the tables. The ocean entry is rather rocky, so I would wear beach shoes. The food looked good, but we didnt try any.
