Sandi149 Posted October 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2006 I will be going on a 2 night CTN on the Carnival Legend in 2 weeks and I'm wondering how are the prices for the perfume in the duty free shop? Is there a substantial savings? Thanks, Sandi :D
Cruisingbear Posted October 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2006 We have purchased both perfume and cologne at the onboard shops. It depends on the brand, but there is a savings. My perfume was about $5 less, not including tax. The cologne my husband bought was a real deal. He saved about $20. To get the good deals, you have to purchase more than one bottle. Check the prices at home before you go. Have a great cruise. Happy Sailing..................
CraftyDD Posted October 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2006 I found the prices of the brands I bought and was asked to buy for friends was cheaper. When you figure in that you do not pay tax that makes it better. Alcohol is much much cheater.
heatheranne Posted October 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Does anyone know if Guerlain perfumes are available onboard? Specifically their new frangrance, Insolence? We'll be sailing on the Liberty in November for our Anniversary & Thanksgiving; I'd love a new bottle of perfume for the special night, but wonder if I should wait until onboard to buy? Thanks for any info anyone has! :)
Denisern2 Posted October 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Yes it is a great deal!!!! I never bring perfume with me so I can use the new stuff I buy one less thing to pack. Makeup is also a good deal.
glrounds Posted October 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2006 I almost always buy a bottle of my ex-wife's favorite perfume. Getting harder and harder to find it on the ship though (last time I had to buy it in St.Thomas). I'm certain to get the spelling wrong. Its Ler De Temps by Nina Ricci. I have noticed, however, that the men's aftershave lotion and cologne can be beaten up and down the boulevarde in my opinion.
