Sorry to hear about your problems. I was also on the Glory 10/7 sailing. We had no problems getting off (appx. 30 minutes), but will say that we were the first ones off since we had an early flight.

Our wait staff was great. We had the 8:00 in the Platinum Dining Room. Some at our table seemed to go through the bread/butter quickly, so they began having extra butter and a basket of bread waiting on us. We ordered coffee after dinner the first 2 nights, then they would bring coffee to us without asking. Food came promptly as well. Sometimes the food wasn't the best, but overall, our dining experience was very pleasant.

The CD was Dana ???? Dont remember his last name.

We had the 8 PM also same dinning room. we were in the back a party of 15 my mother and father in-law order a bottle of wine every night and every time had to ask for the wine list on the last night was not even giving one. I had to ask for ice tea every night along with coffee. It was very poor the food was ok nothing great to write about. Also my mother in law was not even done with her dinner yet when the waitress dropped off the desert menu to her she came back around and my mother in-law who was still eating asked her what she wanted for desert my mother in-law said am not done eating yet. The waitress said well cant you look at it. Just very rude almost if we were a bother the whole time. I have been on 10 cruise or more and very had this. I guess maybe it was are time :)

I was there when they had the emergency on the deck 10. There was a little girl that looked like she cut her foot. They carried her away really quick, however I haerd this is not what caused the delay. I heard there was a fire on another ship and we had to slow down(or something like that) incase our ship had to evacuate the other ship.

It is funny that they say we were delayed because we were in port ontime. And we didnt get off the ship until after 12 noon and didnt get to our car that was only 2 miles away until 2pm. It was fun trying to keep a 2 year old and 2 12 years olds happy for 5 hours waiting to get off the ship. I took my 2 year old into one of the clubs so he could run around without disturbing anyone else and got yelled at by one of the cleaning ladies because he touched a window. It wasnt my fault we were stuck on the boat!

Was it just me or did it seem like at 11pm Friday night all service stopped? Icecream, coffee, juices, etc all turned off. And the crew seemed not as nice. I know they have to get ready for the next cruise but we were still on ours.

I will write a complete review later.

Hi Everyone, now I am suffering from PCD (post cruise depression).. Weather is crappy here in Milwaukee, skys gray and rain in the air.

I also was on the GLory from 10/7 - 10/14.... I don't remember getting into port late on Saturday??

Can someone please tell me something..... I thought the purpose of putting our luggage out the night before was so the drug sniffin dogs could do their thing thru all the baggage that they take out of the rooms.???

What about all of those self-assist customers who take their own luggage off the ship?? Is their luggage not checked for banned substances? For me it is so much easier to get your luggage outside of your cabin door the night before instead of having to take it down all the steps.

We were the first deck called off of the Glory (Lido) and were by the Budget Rent a Car place by 8:45... the second group of friends did not get called for another 45 minutes.. anybody know what the delay was?

Anyways the girls from Wisconsin had a wonderful time....

Cheryl

We too were on the Glory with you. We had great service in the Golden dining room and didn't experience any problems with debarkation. We did self-assist and were to our car (using Art's shuttle) at the Country Inn and Suites by 8:15. We heard the page and were wondering what it was for.

Had a great trip!

I have booked on the Glory for March (spring) break 2007--After reading all of this I am a little worried. This will be our first cruise as a family, with 2 teens and I don't want to be disappointed.

Should I consider switching to another ship/line? The price was right because we needed to get 2 cabins.

Can somebody comment on some positive things about the boat?

As I posted earlier, I thought the service was great. We had a large group who wasn't seated at the same table (one family was in a different dining room) and the maitre d took care of it the first day. The wait staff was attentive and prompt. The cabin steward did a fantastic job. We kept one of the beer buckets from the pool in our cabin to keep water cold, and he would fill it and the ice bucket with ice each time he cleaned the room. In the evening our DD always had a towel animal waiting on her - monkey, elephant, etc. If you were by the pool, you couldnt turn around without seeing a waiter. Whenever I saw a bartender pour a drink, they filled the jigger (shot glass) all the way to the top and didn't skimp. But the bar service did lack in the casino. It took a while for them to come around if you were at the tables.

As for issues with kids/teens, I never saw any real bad behavior except for some kids running around that would bump into you. A lot of the teens seem to hang around the outside of the kids disco, talking.

If I were to critique, the food was average. I know it takes a lot to feed that many people, but for breakfast each morning in the lido buffet it was the same thing EVERYDAY. For dinner, if you picked the right thing it was great, but if you didn't, it wasn't inedible but not great either. A lot of the beef dishes were tough. But did have lamb the first night which was really good, a shrimp dish (dont remember the name or the night) that was excellent, and a seafood fricasse that was very good too. Again, depended on what you got. The fish and chips was very good as was the deli. Sushi was also great.

Can't tell you about the shows - didnt go except to the last one which was the legends show. I did hear some talking about how the shows were really good, others said they weren't. Just depends on your style and taste.

I think a cruise is what you make it. If you are looking to complain, you can find something.

Bottom line - I would go again in a second.

If anyone has any questions, I'd be glad to help.
