Mommy oooo Posted October 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Has anyone ever been in cabin 8072 or 8074 on the Jewel. Are these connecting cabins:confused:
cb at sea Posted October 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2006 If you will look up the deck plans for that ship, it will clearly show whether they are connecting, how many they sleep, whether there are obstructions, etc.... Go to the RCI website and look them up!
dzboss1 Posted October 20, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2006 They are connecting cabins, but looking at the deck plans is the best idea.
nanfromatlanta Posted October 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Following is the link for viewing deck plans for the Jewel: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/ship/decks/deck/home.do;jsessionid=0000-HY--3Z5vdY1sAyi6mFM6lZ:10ktdmnut?shipCode=JW&shipProfile=1118
Mommy oooo Posted October 20, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted October 20, 2006 What happened was when I booked my cruise in cabin 8074 well over a year ago according the the deck plans it was not a connecting cabin, several months ago they changed the deck plans and now it is. I was wondering if anyone actually had one of these cabins to confirm.
hxl2001 Posted October 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2006 There is conflicting information on these cabins, so I agree it would be nice to hear from someone that has actually stayed in them. The Royal Caribbean website shows 8072 and 8074 connecting but other leading websites show 8070 and 8072 connecting. I asked my TA to check with Royal Caribbean - they said 8074 was not connecting! hxl2001 Posted October 20, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Since I'm also staying in this room I did a bit more digging ... I called RCI - at first they said their web site was correct and everyone else's web site is incorrect. But then she said she would look in "The Book" (not sure exactly what "The Book" is). She said that "The Book" says 8074 is not connecting (8070 / 72 connect) - so, to double check, she called a "specialist" - they also said 8074 is not connecting. So it appears that the RCI website is not correct! Let me know if anyone discovers something different.
QM2 Cruiser Posted October 20, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2006 I am also staying in cabin 8074 on the Jewel this coming April. When I booked I went through the same conflicting information. I never got a straight answer from Royal Caribbean so I plan to take the cruise and simply hope the cabin in not connecting. This was one of the only cabins available on deck 8 for the April 7th sailing.
dzboss1 Posted October 20, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2006 I'll be on the Jewel next Thursday, and plan to do a live report from her. I have taken down the cabin numbers and will hopefully remember to go there and ask the room steward and report it to you all. (I love a project)
Mommy oooo Posted October 21, 2006 Author #10 Share Posted October 21, 2006 Well, I was able to change out of that cabin and booked a definite non-connecting cabin. My other concern with 8074 was the pullman bed. We will be traveling with our 2 year old daughter and she certainly won't be sleeping in a pullman and I can just see her jumping on the bed or sofa and trying to yank it down. Plus I'm a creature of habit and I've never had a connecting or a pullman in the cabin so unless I needed either one of those it would irk me that they are there. So we got a cabin on deck 7, an E2 not as midship but no connecting and no pullman, just a sofabed.:o
