Shops near Omni...San Diego

We are staying at the Omni in San Diego pre cruise. Are there shops within walking distance to get some soft drinks to take on board?

 

We also debated between Embassy Suites and Omni. In your opinion, did we make a good decision by choosing Omni? :)

You will be staying downtown SD in the Gas Lamp Quarter. There are shops and restaurants everywhere. Your hotel is connected by a bridge to the baseball stadium.. A great hotel and area to stay!

The Omni is a very nice hotel right across from Petco Park. IMHO, the Omni is a MUCH better hotel then the Embassy Suites so I'd say you choose wisely. The only thing is the Embassy Suites is much closer to the cruise ship terminal but the Omni isn't that far either. In the Omni you're right at the foot of the Gaslamp Quarter where there are plenty of restaurants and fun.

 

There are a few small stores that might have sodas within walking distance but your best bet is to go to the Ralphs around 1st and G St which is right behind Horton Plaza to get the sodas but it's probably not within walking distance carrying sodas. Also at Horton Plaza there is a Longs Drugs but again it may be too far to walk with that many sodas. As I said though in the Gaslamp there are a few smaller stores that you might be able to pick up something.
