New tipping policy

I asked Windstar what happens if a passenger directly tips a crew member instead of using the "hotel charge". There response was the following:

 

 

"Dear Mr. Lovecruisingtoo,

 

If a Windstar guest extends gratuity directly to a crew member the gratuity is not placed in a pool or shared. Crew members “tipped” directly keep the gratuity to themselves. I hope you find this information helpful.

:) That's great, only hope that Rachel Boyer speaks for the entire upper management team at Holland America and Windstar. I guess only time will tell.
