I just got off the Glory...and I wish I were still on it!! It was our first cruise so I don't really have anything to compare it to...but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room steward was awesome and the food was pretty good. Our only complaint...our head waiter. He was NOT good. We should have asked to be moved because we chose not to eat in the dining room most nights...but we were fine with it. We enjoyed eating whenever we wanted. We had 8:30 seating...which is a bit late for us. We slept soooo good. The room was very quiet! We loved having a balcony!! We are definitely going on another cruise soon! You guys have a lot to look forward to!!

How was the lido deck food for dinner?

We stayed in cabin 7360. We didn't have any problem with noise and we were close to everything. We stayed on deck 5 and 9 most of the time...so we only had to walk the stairs two levels most times. The balcony was well worth the $$$$$$$!!!!

We had no problem with food on deck 9. If we ever picked up something that wasn't great...we went back and found something else. We met one couple who didn't realize that deck 9 offered so many choices. Make sure you walk the entire deck before you pick up anything. Once we boarded we went straight up to deck 9 to eat lunch. They had food everywhere...and my husband had the best fish he's ever had! I didn't really like the coffee but they do have a coffee bar on deck 5 which was great...but it cost $$.

Overall it was a great time and I am already looking for another cruise! It was certainly worth the money!! :D

Sccruise....thanks so much for your input. You know how it is when you are getting ready to go, we want to absorb as much info as we can...! So glad you had a great time. Please tell how the weather was...you did the western right? I am hoping for sun, sun and more sun!

Did you only tender at Belize? did it rain there? seems every time I have gone it rained, so I haven't bothered to book a beach break....unless you tell me it didn't rain??? thanks.

Oh...I totally know how it is...getting ready to go and want to know as much as possible. You have A LOT to look forward to. Yes...we did the western carribean. The weather was nice...just a bit windy. It did not rain while in Belize. We did tender there...which we called an excursion. The waves were kinda big which made the 5 mile ride to shore rather interesting. We liked it though. Some friends snorkeled there...and they said it was a little rough. Our best weather was while we were in Nassau. It was warm and pleasant! We didn't stay long enough there!! Getting on and off the ship was a lot easier than I thought it would be!! In Costa Maya, we went to an all-inclusive beach...and it was a little too crowded and the drinks were not good. Avoid those if you can. We went to Paradise Beach in Cozumel and paid for food and drink there...much better! Have fun!!

We just got off too. I wish I was still on the ship. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We were in a suite, so embarkation was very easy. Our family members not in suites also felt like embarkation was simple. We were the very first people on the ship. We immediately booked the supper club. We booked for Mon night b/c we had early seating all other nights and you don't board in Cozumel until 7:00 so we booked the supper club at 8:00. I think the supper club was DEFNITELY worth it. The food was amazing. Also, in the dining room the warm chocolate melting cake is great! You can have it every night which most people in our group did. The menus were rearranged for Thanksgiving and I did not like the choices. The menus posted on the TVs in the room looked better. I thought the first show was just ok and the 2nd show (Rock down Boradway) was much better-- the dancers seemed to have more energy. The late night comedy was all good.Debarkation did not go as well as the rest of the cruise. It took a while to begin calling floors and it seemed disorganized. Nonetheless we got off and headed home. The cruise director was Dana something. He is American. That was the first time I had been on a ship with an American CD. He did a good job. If anyone has specific q's I will be happy to answer. We did the hole in the fence at Costa Maya (search hole in the fence on the CM page on CC). We did cave-tubing.com in Belize.

Carolinacruiser2006....glad to hear you enjoyed the Glory.

I was thinking of going to the Emerald Restaurant, do you think I would look out of place dining alone there?

How was the weather?

sushi good?

fish n chips recommendations to eat what?

I love seafood, oysters etc, can you get that there?

How was the hole in the wall, in CM? was it crowded? Did you have to pay for the chairs etc?

I usually go to the town of Machjual (sp) and lie on beach there....

Thanks for any input.

Embarkation was a breeze compared to Miami. Lunch was served right away as we entered...the food was too good to be true. Our dinning room was Golden. (That's it's name and it lived up to it in more ways than I can mention. Our wait staff was terrific and the food was to die for.) The ship it self is beautiful. Very easy to navigate. Most everything you will want to do is on level 5 and 9. (Level 5 has most of the entertainment, Casino, Sushi Bar, Wine and Martini Bar, Sports Bar...sensing a theme. Level 9 has all of the other casual dining rooms as well as the pools. Service was great for anything you wish.) The Amber Palace is there main theater and has two levels. Shows were good...we only went to two...did not care for the magician. Can't comment on the others. The workout area has plenty of equipment and sauna, steam room and hot tub, whatever floats your boat. Our excursions were terrific...we swam with the dolphins in Cozumel, went Cave tubing in Bleize, Town Highlights with Beach Break in Costa Maya/plus shopping..and simply shopping in Nassua (don't miss Senior Frog in any of the ports. Our room was plenty large...we did not have a balcony...saved the extra $$$ to spend. But the steward was wonderful...room was always spotless. Beds are great...you will sleep wonderfully.

Any other questions...please ask. We will try to answer.

Come on! I wanna hear all about it, the good, the bad, the ugly!!

How was the service? the food? the weather?

This time next saturday I will be on her and am itching to know more about it before I go!

Come on...tell us all!

We got of the Glory yesterday too and arrived home this afternoon. We had a cabin above the sports bar, cabin 6284. During football game we could really hear the cheering but it was quiet at night when it mattered. I had a hard time sleeping with the rolling of the ship, not sure why. It wasn't bad just constant.

Our steward was Akto and he was good but I didn't see him often. Our waitstaff was ok. Our headwaiter was I Made (a popular name, btw) and his asst was Pablo. I Made was good but didn't see Pablo much. They did sing and dance a little in the dining room and did the red, white and blue thing. I can do with out that.

The chocolate melting cake was good. Some nights it was more done than others so it wasn't as "melting". It was served with ice cream, yum. The menu also lists alternatives for dinner. I wish I had noted them but they included shrimp cocktail, steak, salmon steak, etc.

We got to the port about 10:30a for embarkation and it was a mess. None of the porters would help us with our luggage because they were all still helping other off the ship. I couldn't understand why when they had nothing on their dolly they couldn't have gotten a tip back to the checkin building. I was told that "it wasn't my job". We stood in line because it wasn't clear with our luggage and after some time were told to drop it at the end of the building where the bus transfers from the airport were being dropped! The porter asked for a "donation", his words. I had words for him!

I found the weather to be too windy and cool especially the first few days and 4 ports is one too many for my liking!

I did the Fish and Chips and they have more than that on the menu! Had a corned beef from the deli. I didn't get anything from the Oriental window or from room service.

I think you could easily go to the emerald alone. It is so calm in there and the waitstaff is wonderful. I think they would take good care of you. The weather was not great, but not bad. We had no rain, but it was windy in most ports and that made it chilly. Nassau was the warmest and it was great. I did hear from my sister-in-law tha she met someone in Nassau who had been there all week and that was the warmest day they had had. Sushi was good. It seemed they started out more tame (white fish, salmon, veggie rolls, crab rolls) and added more fish as the week went on (tuna, oysters, mussels etc.). There were selections such as ahi tuna in the fish and chips and on dinner menu. I think you would really like fish and chips-- lots of selection-- yes, oysters, calamari etc. In CM the hole in the wall was good just watch out for the ants on the path. There were only about 20 people there and my husband and I had a whole portion of beach to ourselves. No charge for beach chairs etc. The Coronas were only 2 dollars and we just tipped a lot for letting us hang out there. If you like beaches with a lot of people you want like it, but if you like the stranded on a deserted island feel, it is wonderful.

CCruiser2006...thanks for your input, I am disapointed to read that it was very windy and cool as all I want to do every day is lie out in the sun....

I may venture to the Emerald room depnding on who my tablemates are...have had some "unfortunate" experiences there that ended up with me eating at teh grill every night....I am so looking forward to teh break from work and relaxing, just keep everything crossed that I have beautiful sunshine every day!

I was told by a Carnival staff member that the resort at CM was CLOSED and no one goes there. He was Lucas the wine sommelier in the Emerald Room. I argued with him and then just dropped it but he was adamant.

How was the cave- tubing.com? Are they outside waiting on you when you arrive? How long is the excursion? The hole in the fence did you have to pay for anything? How was the sushi bar? What are the alternatives for the dining room? What night is formal night?

I luv crusin... I would take what the waiter said with a pinch of salt...why? I worked on a cruise ship several years ago and it was a known thing that crew members would sometimes "omit" info on beaches etc for passengers to go to, as they would prefer to go themselves and get a break from the pax...not saying he was doing this, but who knows...last I heard it was open.

Hey, has anyone looked at the weather for those going on Glory next week...like me.......please please let it be wrong...rain every day at every island...no! no! no!
