hey all

just got off the victory for thanksgiving and thought i'd share a picture store i captured.

was on deck 10 relaxing overlooking the pool area when i saw a lady go in the tub with her kid with a diaper on, yes i know.

i turned to my friends and said 'hey thats not cool' to which they agreed.

2 min later a carnival rep came up to her and enforced the rule!

to good to be true, i had to take pics!

we laughed, it was the highlight of our day :D:D:D

I am sure Carnival is going to be a lot more on point in enforcing that "no diaper" rule. Jeez, some parents just don't get it.

Loved the pictures and was glad to see the rule enforced. Question though . . . on my last two cruises on the Triumph there was a sign that said no children allowed in the hot tub . . . are kids allowed the hot tubs? I saw one of the ship's crew tell several kids that they would have to leave.

That's what I was wondering. Sure looks like there's still a bunch of kids in those hot tubs.

Great pictures. (and captions!)

Like Ron White says..."you can't fix stupid".

All those other kids are exempt by the way, because their ignorant parents to are stupid to raise responsible kids who follow the rules. Their parents are probably drunk in the casino.

Hi Tammy - When we were on Legend, the aft pool and hot tub were posted as "adults only" and the rule was well enforced. We never saw any kids in the aft pool after the first sea day. The main pools/hot tubs were open to kids (and were crowded with kids). On Victory, one of the aft hot tubs was posted as adults only, but there was no separate adult pool.

Unless they're posted as "adults only," the hot tubs are fair game for the kids - as long as they're not in diapers. On Legend, I did take a couple of kids (maybe around 10 or 11 years old) to task for deciding to have a "splash party" in the hot tub while I was there - gave them my best motherly stare and just said "Hey, come on guys - quit splashing!" I was surprised - it actually worked!

Actually, kids (read: not babies or toddlers) can spend up to 15 minutes in a true hot tub without detrimental effects. I've never felt anything higher than 'luke warm' in a cruise ship's hot tub, but I sure as heck would not want to soak in a cesspool for any amount of time.

No one is supposed to lounge around a hot tub for hours on end-especially people with heart conditions, high blood pressure, etc. The recommended time for an adult is half an hour, less if you're drinking while lounging. :)

My teachers would be proud-apparently I learned something in Hydrotherapy 101. :D

I love kids, but sometimes rules need to be followed for everyone's wellbeing... Including keeping 'adults only' areas for adults only. I'm waiting for the day we see kids on the topless decks. Apparently those signs are being obeyed!

Not too well I'm afraid. In addition to the occassional attempt by a teen there was one lady who brought her two children up onto the F-deck. And then she got offended because there were naked people up there!

Hi Kathy! Truth be known . . . I don't even go in the hot tubs on cruises and am so surprised that parents will let their young kids in them. They look so tempting but the only hot tub I'll go in is my own. Believe me, I don't have "germ phopia" (think I spelled that wrong) . . . but if there is anywhere on a cruise ship that is full of germs . . . it's in a tub full of hot water and lots of people you don't know.

On my last few cruises i have also noticed a sign thay says no children and an age age limit, i think it was 12 or 14.

I didn't notice if it was in all the hot tubs or just the one i was in.

I find the kids are going in the tubs as son adults are going for.

The WARMTH.

Maybe they should use the pool heaters more often.

On the Pride, we found the front pool was heated.....occasionally.

On the Legend, the rear "adult" pool was heated.....occasionally.

Look at the other people in the pics! The older man in the ht in the second photo looks so sad to see her go (perhaps the daddy?), while the little boy in the ht next door looks ready to barf in it!! And the two women watching the whole scene... hilarious!
