Krazy Kruizers Posted July 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2004 :) No - but if you are thinking about that cruise - you will love it. We did a 16 day cruise on the Rotterdam that included the Orinoco River. Loved the cruise and the ship. :)
FlorenceItaly Posted July 20, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted July 20, 2004 I am only "slightly" thinking about it, LOL. The solo rate is HIGH...more than I want to pay. On my NE/Canada cruise my solo rate was less than some double occupancy rates. On my upcoming Alaska cruise, my solo rate is only about 110% which is excellent, for Alaska...this one is at least 150% or more......I may watch it for a bit. maril Posted July 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2004 Hi There are four of us taking the same trip but over Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to it. This is the second trip on HAL, the first being last year when we went to Alaska. I will have a trip report for you before you leave, when, in Janauary? jazzsea Posted July 20, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 20, 2004 We are sailing January 5, 2005. Really looking forward to it. I can't wait to see a list of the shore excursions, especially the ones that leave from Gatun Lake.
FlorenceItaly Posted July 20, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted July 20, 2004 Nothing booked yet, but I am looking at the Jan 15 sailing. Jan 5 appears to be pretty full unless that changes after final payment. I am keeping this cruise tucked in the back of my mind....... jazzsea Posted July 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 20, 2004 January 5 Rotterdam is pretty well sold out. There are no verandah cabins (PH, S, A or B )and only a few inside cabins left. Category C - F has some space. There is a very large group aboard.
FlorenceItaly Posted July 20, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted July 20, 2004 Carol - Who is the group do you know? Jan 15 is the more ideal date for me.....also more economical than the 5th. I think the large group has driven the pricing up. Marie
jazzsea Posted July 21, 2004 #10 Share Posted July 21, 2004 Yes, I know the group. Dixieland Jazz bands. About 850 passengers so far and growing every day. We do one big group a year and this is it. Music, dancing, jam sessions, banjomania.
FlorenceItaly Posted July 23, 2004 Author #11 Share Posted July 23, 2004 Carol...I have been out of town a few days. It sounds like it is going to be a fabulous cruise...HOW FUN! I have decided to pursue this itinerary at this time, due to other cruises this year...someday...:). Marie
