Kids Crew on Jewel

Can't speak to the Jewel, but my daughter has been in the actual organized Kids Club on the Star (twice), POA and Dawn at the ages of 5,7,8 and 9. She loved it each time.

We have never used the pay group babysitting for two reasons: one, we don't like the idea of leaving her in an unorganized activity and two, we prefer to do things with her and as a family while in port.

We cruised on the Jewel in November. While we don't have young kids of our own, we did eat one night with a couple from our roll-call whose kids were absolutely loving the kids club. They were actually laughing about it -- said that it was forcing them to have more of a schedule than they were expecting, as the kids kept saying "We have to be back for the kids club at (whatever time). They're doing (whatever activity), and we can't miss this one." It was the family's first time cruising, and the kids club was definitely making a very positive impression.

Thanks- I was a bit leary of the "group " babysitting title-but glad to hear she enjoyed the actual Kids Crew.

Kathy:

You do realize the difference right:

Kids Crew is operated between the hours of 7 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and they have both morning and afternoon sessions during sea days only. There is about a 2 hour gap between each session. (for example from 5-7 p.m.) This is where the kids are sepreated by age with planned activities for each group. They do neat things like a "pirate" day and other activities.

Group Babysitting is between 10:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. and while in port on port days. This is a pay per child per hour service and there are no organized activities. The kids are just placed in the Kids Club rooms and allowed to do their own things under supervision. (usually movies for the night group.). You must reserve a space in group babysitting at least a day ahead of time and it is subject to cancellation if not enough kids sign up. (I have never heard what the number is for "not enough kids.")
