We sailed Port side (with a balcony) last time, have Starboard this time. I wonder if one side is better than the other. Any comments?

Y'all are so helpful!

Thanks!

I usualy like Port side--just because more times than not the ship docks on port side. Like to watch the high school band in MoBay--however, last cruise we were on starboard and we docked starboard in MoBay--first time Capt did this when we have been on the ship. Also, like to watch the late cruisers and drunks run to the ship in Cozumel. On the other hand, usually have a better view from starboard--looking out into the water. But, all in all--it doesn't really matter.

We were on the Conquest 2 years ago;

Does the Conquest still have an afternoon tea?

Curious who is/will be the Cruise Director this Fall;

Thanks, y'all!

Yes, Conquest still has afternoon tea on all sea days at 3:30, usually in Monet Aft, 4th deck.

Is it possible to book a pre-cruise hotel through Carnival when flying into Hobby? If so which hotels do they use and I assume transportation to the hotel is included? Where do I find information and prices?

Hi all! I am going on the July 4th sail of the conquest (14 days away!!) with a bunch of family members and friends. Most of my friends and cousins are young (21-30) and we were wondering what the nightclub and shows are like on the ship. Are the shows more geared to kids, or are the adult only? And is the club really a club (with people actually dancing) or is it just a empty place that plays music?

Thanks!

Hi again! Thanks for the info on the noise levels on the Main Deck. Glad some folks have had good experiences.

Now, question about flying into Hobby. My MIL's travel agent booked us on a flight that lands at Hobby at 12:15pm. I'm a little nervous about getting to the boat on time by 4pm. I would much rather have been there the night before. Anyone have any experiences getting from Hobby to the Cruise ship on time?

Thanks! Connie

I was on the conquest april 09 with 6 girlfriends. The nightclub is a "nightclub" it seemed to be hopping every night! I only made it one night but it was busy and the dance floor was packed.

I'll post a pic of us in the club.

Hobby Airport is less than an hour from Galveston. I'm from Houston, and the trip from my place downtown to Galveston is normally 45 mins to an hour. Hobby airport is right off of 45-S on the way to Galveston, so depending on who's driving, drive time should be about an hour, tops.

Also, Carnival has a shuttle that you can take from Hobby Airport that will take you directly to the port. It's $35 per person, so you should check on that, too.

http://www.PreCruiseHouston.com

Found this on another thread. Hope it helps!

Thanks, not a great location but it's only for one night and it does take us to Galveston and then back to the Airport in Houston.

Will work well for us, plan on going back to airport to pick up a rental car and spend 3 or 4 more days in the Houston/Galveston area post cruise.

Total for the room for one night and transportation to Port of Galveston and back to Hobby. $197.00

Thought about renting a car driving to Galveston on Saturday, that's $40 bucks or more right there(still what do we do with the rental car since enterprise is closed on Sunday and I doubt we could return the car on Saturday by Noon before they close, then aleast another $150 for a room for Saturday night. But we would still have to pay $60 or $70 bucks to get back to Houston.

Last time I was on the Conquest was last year after they did the upgrades (jumbo t.v. on Lido). Has there been any new upgrades sense the last dry dock? We are heading out again in Sept. Thanks for any info!

Has anyone stayed in balcony room #6283? Thanks...

We stayed in 6281 last fall. Great room, over the shops, so no late night or early morning noises. Right around the corner from the elevator so straight up or down no problem. The only problem we had was with the steward. Had to ask her 3 times to unlock the fridge.

Just read on a different site that some Carnival ships have a kiosk where you can insert your memory cards and print your pictures within seconds for .22¢ just like you can at home.

She didn’t specify which ships have this feature – so does anyone know if the Conquest does?

If so, could I just get them printed on a CD instead of paper?

We are set to sail on the Conquest this Sunday.

Will we be allowed to enter the areas where they have TV’s before we are allowed to access our cabins?

Or what about the big screen on the lido deck? Can they televise live TV on it or is it for movies only?

My husband is a huge soccer fan and there will be a WC game at 1:30 pm which he wants to watch.

I know the TV’s in the cabins have satellite, but does anyone know if it has ESPN as well?

No espn in the rooms for some reason..but they do have it in the casino bar both in the lobby area and the bar hidden in the back corner of the casino which is actually a sports bar

As long as you book an inside cabin away from blank areas on the deck plan (service/storage/crew facilities), away from the elevators, or laundry room, you should be fine I had a balcony on the Empress deck and it was great!
