7A's have obstructed view balconies - 8A's do not. As far as an upgrade, keep checking Carnival's site and see if they are offering free upgrades, if you see one call your PVP or TA and see if you can get the upgrade.

An earlier poster asked about secret doors on the Conquest, and I don't believe her question has been answered. If I remember correctly, there is a door all the way forward on the upper deck (level 6) which opens to a little-known, and very windy, deck. Can someone confirm this?

Yes, this is correct. Our cabin was located forward on the upper deck, so I would go out on this deck all the time. Very rarely was anyone else ever out there.

Just posting my Conquest video montage last August (Click the link below)

We will be going on the Conquest in August of this year. I was just wondering, did the heat bother you a lot? Or is it tolerable, if you get in the water often enough?

We were on the Conquest in August, 2003, and the heat wasn't so bad when the ship was moving, I remember the wind feeling good on my face when standing on the balcony, though the idea of leaving the balcony door open so we could hear the waves was ludicrous. We rented a jeep in Cozumel to drive around the island, thought I was going to burn up. Omigosh! it was hot. No a/c, had to put up the top so the sun wouldn't beat down on us anymore. I don't remember Cayman or Jamaica being as bad.

Could anyone here tell me if they know who is performing. I thought I had read it somewhere but can't find it now and it is 1:00 am ...want to go to bed. I was just wanting to know so I could possibly look up more info on them on the net.

Thanks

Can you be more specific? Do you mean the piano bar, or where?

QUOTE:

You can also print cards to take with you on the layout of the ship...simply use a word document...format in normal 8pt bold: Times New Roman: 8pt and divide into for equal columns.

UNQUOTE:

How, what, where and when???

I'd love to do this, but I don't know where to start, where to get the original pics, etc....

Anyone got a step by step for those that need spoon feeding (please?)

The Tahitian Casino offers a Texas Hold-em table. I didn't recall a tournament being held however. I checked our Capers from January and can find no mention of a Hold-em tournament. Only Slot and Blackjack tournaments were offered.

Has anyone stayed there? Any pics? I read somewhere the afts are smaller rooms but the larger balcony makes up for it. Is that true?

Only the center two aft balconies are smaller.(6458,6489,7448,7453,8454,8461) These cabins are about a foot narrower than the others. Where this is most noticable is in the entryway. One of the three cabinets is much thinner, the other two are normal depth but at the expense of the hall which makes for tight quarters. The other aft balconies are normal size.

We stayed in 7453 on our last cruise. It was our first aft balcony and we really loved it. If we book one again we would try to get one of the regular size ones but if none were available we would book the thinner one also.

Here are some pictures of 7453:

go to cozumel insider (do a google) and each week they list the ships and assigned piers

The problem with cozumel insider is that they don't update their calander till Saturday. Since the ship sails the next day it isn't much help.

I was just under the impression that they might have a group or band on the ship. I was just interested in trying to find out what kind of music they will be playing. Thanks.

How does the Conquest compare to the Ecstasy?

Sophiecat

Im now booked on the Conquest but thinking of changing to the Ecstasy myself. The conquest has better ports. The Ectasy you have to step up into the bathroom. The cabins are bigger on the Conquest I was told. Ocean Views are 220 sf, the ones I looked at. The Conquest is newer of course and nicer looking.

Lots of differences, but I am not sure it is worth paying double the price for 2 extra days. Im struggling with the same decision.

There will be a piano player in the piano bar, a rock band playing in either the Degas or Vincent lounge most every night, classical and jazz music, to name a few.

Unfortunately I can't be any help on how good they'll be. Damien, the piano player and Blood Power, the rock band have both left the ship since we sailed last. They were both awesome and hopefully Carnival has replaced them with other good entertainers.

I booked room 1207 on Conquest... It has two portholes, and I believe its a 4A... Just looking to see if anyone has a pic of that room

I could be wrong, however, I do not think there are any port holes for 4As. However, there are some that are 1As and they are the exact same price as the 4As.

There was a so called special last week to upgrade from a 4A to a 5A which might also have some port holes or just obstructed OVs. I say so called sale, because if you clicked on it, it raised the price of the 4A $100, so to me this was not the free upgrade it was purported to be.

FYI when you look at the deck plans on Carnival's web site you will know which are Port Holes as the cabins have the code PH = port hole :)

If you find some 4As that have port holes let me know. I could be wrong.

It looks to me like it's beige colored and shown as a 1A on the Carnival deck plans. You might check your reservation to see if it's a 1A or a 4A. If your reservation shows it's a 4A let us know, Id rather have a 4A than a 1A in case there is a future senior discount on 4As which are inside cabins and more apt to get a senior discount than 1As.

But looking at the Carnival deck plans, it looks to me like that room is shown as a 1A (looks beige colored to me). There are port hole 1As on both Riveria deck where you are and on Main decks.

The only difference it would make is if they ran a special price on inside rooms and you were a 1A it wouldnt qualify, even though 1As are the same price as inside cabins. I still would rather see out for the same price.
