Wow! A 9A wrap on your first cruise! You will be spoiled from here on! I have never been in one of those cabins, nothing higher than 8C, but have heard that they are marvelous! You are going to have such a GREAT time! I have had all different types of cabin, from inside to balcony, and the balconies are definitely worth the extra money, but if I could only afford an inside, I would take the inside rather than stay home! I love to cruise and can hardly wait for one to be over before I start planning the next one! I guarantee you and your DW will be the same way! Will it just be the two of you? Or are you planning to travel with children? Friends?

Just the two of us it is kinda a belated honeymoon we got married last sept and wanted to wait so a hurricane would't blow us away

Congratulations on your recent marriage! My DH and I will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary on this cruise (April 7), so we still consider ourselves as "NEWLYWEDS"! I have traveled with kids and without, and both are great, but we wanted this to be just the two of us. We took my widowed mother last year when we sailed on the Valor. She is also a veteren cruiser but this was her first time without my Dad, so we were all sad. Plus, she is elderly, and we spent alot of time doing activities she could participate in (which at her age aren't very many or exciting). This time around we're gonna do stuff WE want to do, like ZIP-LINE!! We're pumped!!

Anyone stay in an aft stateroom on the Main deck? Looks like that's where we'll be if our guarantee assignment sticks. I posted this question last week as a new thread, but it got buried already, so I thought I'd come straight to the knowledgeable Conquest thread!! :D

dh & i were in cabin 6450...not quite the aft, but we did peek in. we were in the last cabin on the left side, our balcony was next to the wrap around balcony.

Hi. My hubby and I are thinking about taking a Caribbean cruise on the Conquest, and we're wondering if they have tables for just 2 in the main dining rooms. I did a search about that, but couldn't find any info. Thank you very much!

yes they do. dh & i were assigned a 2seater. I personally did not like it, and we moved to a larger table with some of our cruise critic friends we met onboard. It truly was much more fun. We initially had hoped to have a 2 seater thinking it would be more romantic and fun just the 2 of us. but it was the opposite. I was so glad we changed to a later seating and a large table.

Enjoy your cruise, it's a great itenerary our of Galveston. We really enjoyed it!!!

Almost packed is right. Wife and I cruised on the conquest this past September and we were seated with another couple. Looking around it seemed like the table for 4 or more were having more fun than tables for 2. Our situation was different, in that the couple across from us were hell. They were a married couple who were missionaries and got the cruise because another couple could not go. They complained about EVERYTHING. Why is it called idaho potato? why is it called new york steak? The woman made a comment about NY being dangerous and she didn't like it (they were from dallas) and moving from NY 8 yrs ago I informed her that last 6 yrs the crime stats in NY were better than houston or dallas

They were so bad that my wife had to have a drink every night AND MY WIFE DOESN'T DRINK. We did not want to switch tables because our servers were so good. This september we cruise with my son and his girlfriend, should be better. The conquest does have a supper club, but food in dining wall was good enough not to spend money at supper club.

Wow thats bad..and I would have thought Missionaries would have been a little more appreative..I had a table for two once, and we had not requested it..I didnt like it..I get to eat alone with my hubby all the time, and you run out of things to say..besides its fun to meet other ppl and see how they look at life! As long as they dont complain all the time! :D Dot

Almost Packed, I have cabin 6450 next week. Any advise or words of wisdom about this cabin? We chose this cabin for the longer balcony.

If you go up the stair case beside the dessert station in the Lido buffet, Sur Mer is at the top of the stairs.

you will not have a sofa like the other balcanonies. you have a small table with one or two desk chairs. your room will be a bit smaller, and the bathroom door is inconvenient...however, the balcony is almost twice the size of a regular balcony. it's very nice! your bed will be facing the water as opposed to facing the front of the ship like the other balconies i saw. this rocked us to sleep like a baby. i had no problem with noise at all. but we were usually in the casino late at night. you have a great view pulling into ports. be sure to be on your balcony going into Jamaica! maybe you will see the naval ships like we did, and they raised the flag, sang our Natl Anthem, and saluted and cheered as we pulled in. You have a wall full of windows. Your balcony door will stay open in port, but while moving, you can take your door stop from the entry door and wedge it in the crack of the balcony door to hold it open if you want. we heard no excessive noise coming from crew stairwell, but we were pretty tired every night. you have a small little private hallway that you share with the aft balcony. Not sure what else to tell you...any other questions, just ask. have fun!
