Travel Irons

Are travel irons allowed on board? I thought I read someone's post that said irons are not allowed in rooms. Thanks!

That is correct, irons are NOT allowed on board as they present a safety hazard. There are services for laundry and pressing available on the ship.

In 2003 a friend of mine who was sailing on the same ship as I, brought her iron...that's strange

A couple of weeks ago when I sailed on the FOS I noticed a pile of irons, knifes...etc that were not allowed on the ship. For the safety of others I wouldn't suggest bringing an iron. If the ship hits a good size wave it could knock the iron over and cause a fire.

This may be a dumb question but are curling irons/straightening irons allowed then?

If you go to the RCI website, and to the faq's section and put in irons, you will see that no irons are allowed. You can't bring travel irons or other irons because they are a fire hazard.

 

You can bring curling irons and straightening irons, just not clothes irons. Steamers are allowed too.
