Scooter Rental Questions

For those of you that have rented scooters here are a few questions.

 

1) Can two adults ride on one scooter? Or are you better off renting two?

 

2) Is there a safe way to carry snorkel gear with you (fins, snorkels, and masks - we have a mesh backpack)? And maybe a small collapsible cooler?

 

3)f you stopped to snorkel do you have suggestions as to good places? And were you comfortable leaving non-valuables on the beach?

 

We'll be there in 2 weeks and I'm trying to finalize plans. Thanks in advance for your help and information!

I can only offer help with #2. I have ridden scooters before (but never on Grand Turk). I would suggest storing the snorkeling gear in the backpack(s) and wearing them while you ride. Of course if you have flippers, then the backpack will be a tad more awkward than if you don't. They actually make special bags that hold flippers vertically that may be helpful.

 

If you end up riding with 2 people on one scooter, I hope it is a newer scooter with power, and I suggest that the person in the back be the one wearing the backpack (containing the snorkeling gear).
