Crown and Anchor Coupons - Question from someone returning to RCCL

Recommended Posts

It's been a long time, years, since I've sailed on Royal Caribbean but, was able to get my Crown and Anchor number from customer service for my upcoming cruise on Explorer in December.

I keep seeing the mention of "coupons" for C&A members - can someone please elaborate on what to expect in this coupon book?

Thanks!

Well you either get them in the mail, or if you register on RCI's website, you can put in your C&A member, then under the C&A section, click on SPECIAL OFFERS, and there will be offers for discounts for certain cruises. They usually have to be booked within a certain period of time in order to receive those offers.

Hope this helps! :)

Christie, I think the OP is referring to the coupon books found in your cabin for Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Diamond Plus status passengers.

OP, are you Gold status now? The coupon books usually include savings certificates to use in the ships' spas, casinos, bars, etc.. delivered first day of the cruise to your stateroom. I don't remember the actual value for the certificates, but sometimes there is a "free cocktail", $2 for $1 coupon for the casino, 10% off spa treatment, etc.. Does this help?

Yes this is the information I was seeking, and, yes only gold so far :( but the information you've provided is great, thank you!

I think most people that are talking about coupons mean that those belonging to C&A get a book of coupons in their cabins when they sail. The coupons have things like a free meal at Johnny Rockets, drink coupon, casino coupon etc.

I don't know if all levels (Gold Platinum & Diamond) get the same coupon values but all members get a coupon book. They are one of the perks for belonging to C&A.

Also as mentioned by Christie, there are discount coupons for cruises if you are a C&A member. Those are found on the net, or you might get them mailed. They are different coupons and you will get them one way or the other. I think RCI prefers to do email though.

Enjoy your cruise.

The coupon books you find in your cabin do have different values for each level you have reached: gold, platinum, diamond. I am diamond and have sailed in a cabin with somebody who is gold several times and his coupon book is different than mine. (Mine is better.) Where he might get 2 for 1 drinks I get them for free or something like that.

a lot of times those coupon books are being sold on EBAY. they are usually coupons that the seller didn't use on their cruise. Rarely are they a complete unused book. But you can look at the auctions to see which coupons are in what book. (Diamond vs. Gold). But I would be cautious of bidding on a diamond book if you are only a gold member. Remember, our sail and sign cards are different as well sooo the coupons might not be able to be used if they ask to see your sail and sign card to verify you are at least the level you are saying you are. Make sense? I just thought you could look to see what coupons might be in YOUR book when you get on board.:) I am a gold member too, so I only get to drool over the higher level books too.

But here is some good news. It is my understanding that even the gold members get a small gift in our cabins from C&A. If we are lucky we will get one of the frames everyone loves so much!:D :p But I NEVER look a gift horse in the mouth! I will love whatever the gift is.

I'm pretty sure my coupon book said it was good for that cruise only. However, no where can I find a date or even the name of the ship on any of the coupons. I'm going on another cruise in March. Can I use the remaining coupons from my last cruise??

As long as the cruise length is the same as the last one. YEP.

Yes you can. On our last cruise, we traded coupons with our CC buds. We were told by Guest Relations that this was OK. Can't tell you how many internet coupons we used.

I have a question for any experienced cruisers w/kids - do minor children travelling with you get coupon books, or are they just for the parents??? I ask because even tho my kids have cruised 3-4 times, they have never received their own coupon book.

BTW - DH and I are platinum and would really like our DD's to get books too :D .

Children do NOT get coupon books as they really don't become members until they are 18. So, sorry your kids won't get any until then.

Were your friends the same level as you? Did gold level people get to use a diamond level coupon?

Tell us more about the internet coupons. Where did you find them?:)

Not supposed to, but I have, as long as the coupons are the same as the ones they offer on your second cruise you will be ok.

As far as buying a higher level coupon book of ebay, they do check the level on you seapass card. My daughter,11, went down to the photo deck, to buy a photo she and her friend had had taken, we had a diamond, buy one photo get one free coupon, she was going to get 2 copies, one for her and one for her friend in the picture, because this was a diamond coupon and her setsail pass does not show a membership level (under 18's can't join C&A), they refused the coupon. She came back to the cabin and borrowed my seapass card and the coupon was accepted. Seems strange that they will let a young girl use an adult males seapass card, but not the coupon;)

The coupon book was from a 5 day cruise. I'm now going on a 7 day cruise. Can I use the book from the 5 day cruise?

Internet coupons??? Where do I get those???

Probably meant Coupon towards internet use while onboard the ship found inside the C & A coupon book.
