serene56 Posted October 3, 2011 #2276 Share Posted October 3, 2011 Carnival Magic - Just booked 8362 and 8360. Any issues with these rooms? Looks like the spa is below - will noise be a problem even though it's several decks below? Thanks! its between cabin space- - No, you do not get noise from several decks away
Comet Cruiser Posted October 5, 2011 #2277 Share Posted October 5, 2011 Hi there, Anyone stayed in either 1584 or 1284? We are considering one of these 2 for our cruise. We usually book a Junior Suite but wanted to try out a Grand Suite this time ;) Thanks Gail Comet Cruiser
iluv2travel4 Posted October 7, 2011 #2278 Share Posted October 7, 2011 I just booked Carnival Freedom cabin #6442. I don't see a lot of comments on this particular cabin. It's a balcony that is longer than most and the room is 2 down from the wrap around balcony. It is also right above the lounge. Can any one give me any feed back on this room? Thanks ahead of time. If you do a search for L shape balcony or L shape cabin you will get tons of information some people like it- some dont. Here are my cons of this type of cabin. The space is more sq footage then the rest of them, but a lot of this sq footage can not be used because of the lay out. There is no sofa in the cabin. The bed sits where you can see out the window BUT the TV is off to the side so you can only view tv while laying on one side- (not comfortable for us) and if someone is standing- getting dressed the other person can not see the tv. The only space to get dressed with that sq footage in front of the vanity. I felt ontop of my honey midweek. that type of cabin is not for us. I missed having the sofa- your particular cabin IS over the stage area of the lounge. You will get noise- avoid being over any stage area of any lounge. The seating areas are good- no noise from that area. If you want this type of cabin- get the one next door- or on the other side better yet if you can get the one on empress deck http://travel.webshots.com/***** Edited October 7, 2011 by serene56
iluv2travel4 Posted October 7, 2011 #2280 Share Posted October 7, 2011 Thank you so much for your knowledge. I am thinking of changing my room now. My sister and her DH are in the cabin next to us #6450, it is next to the wrap around cabin. I don't know if they will change cabins, but if it is noisy in that one too, then maybe. How late do the stage shows back there normally go till? I don't know if you know the answer but thanks for your help! Angie

I would think that you would be up and out. But what happens on the night before an early port day. If noise will keep you awake- I would be moving. Be next door to someone should not be all that important. Its not like you can all hang out in the cabin together-- for one-- there is no place to sit. You can all meet up somewhere on the ship. Personally- this is one time where bigger is not always better
hammer52 Posted October 7, 2011 #2282 Share Posted October 7, 2011 Has anyone stayed in the Star Princess Emerald balcony cabins? I've heard that the balconies are somewhat larger, & know that they are adjacent to the promenade walkways, although not on the same level. I haven't heard of any problems from noise from the theater (one to two floors below & adjacent). thank you for any additional feedback --- I'm perseverating a bit with seeking reassuring feedback --- I'm not a "napper" so don't think rehearsal noise would bother me, & likely won't be in room much during afternoons, & am not an early sleeper, either, so I'm hoping it will be more of an enticement to get me out actually walking the promenade myself! thank you for any replies! I had one of these balcony cabins on the Star Princess and I thought it was great. A bigger balcony then my friends mini suite and not a lot of wind when the ship is sailing. Also. there really isn't that much foot traffic on the walk way and with the tinted mirror glass in the front, most people don't even pay any mind to the balconies when they do walk by. I did hear the music from the theater when they had a show going on.
peacebeach Posted October 8, 2011 #2283 Share Posted October 8, 2011 I "upgraded" from an interior cabin to an ocean view cabin, which is great- but then I realized that it is 3 doors down from the galley- not so great. I have read warnings here about avoiding being above or below the galley, but nothing about being a few doors down. I'm sailing on the Carnival Legend. Does anyone know if this will potentially be a nightmare room? I didn't tell my husband that I upgraded us, bc I wanted it to be a nice surprise. It would suck if it was a bad surprise. Thanks!:)

The larger balcony will be nice to enjoy, & it's also reassuring that you didn't encounter a lot of wind with sailing, as this is my first trans Atlantic cruise(!). I'll anticipate hearing the evening theater music, now, so thank you for the heads up! Any cruise is a good cruise, I think, & I appreciate you taking the time to read this thread, & sharing your experience with this cabin. Thanks!:) Can you see if you can downgrade to the 4K that feature french doors instead of a window. (better room for less money) There are NO cabins UNDER the galley on this ship- when you are reading to avoid the galley people are saying do not book under the galley. You cabin is all the way aft- long walk to the stairs/elevators./ long way up to the food/pools. You might experience vibrations/shuddering. serene56 Posted October 9, 2011 #2288 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Ditto 6228 is over the show lounge- when the main shows are happening you will get the beat beat of the bass. (its just too loud) but you will be at that show anyways.
mvivv Posted October 11, 2011 #2289 Share Posted October 11, 2011 If you like sleeping, don't book these rooms. They are an expensive internal room category but definitely not worth the money. It is directly under the pool which starts cleaning after midnight and seems to go for hours. Also, it is very close to the atrium doors and is extremely noisy with band music. Another downside, maybe because of school holidays but it seemed to be a running track for all the kids whose parents were out for the night.

Leni Posted October 12, 2011 #2291 Share Posted October 12, 2011 We have booked 1554, seems to be below the whirlpool deck. The only other rooms available were on the port side near the front from 1501 to 1509. I believe a spa is above that section. Has any one had this room or one nearby? I would appreciate any suggestions.
cmorie Posted October 17, 2011 #2292 Share Posted October 17, 2011 Destiny 6203. Inside connecting stateroom. We didn't know the people on the other side and after hearing them during the cruise didn't want to. I have a feeling they were on the louder side too though. It's also above the casino and mid-day naps could be disturbed by the bands that play during the day and night. If it was the only acceptable option I'd book it again but only on those circumstances. Pro - it was in a good location. Elevators were 3 cabins down. Only 3 flights to the Lido and one flight down to the casino.
Lilly_mom83 Posted October 18, 2011 #2293 Share Posted October 18, 2011 We are in a balcony suite RM 6400 on carnival valor. Anyone have any experience with this room? Jamrenjer Posted October 18, 2011 #2294 Share Posted October 18, 2011 We just got off the Ecstasy-- and had a great cruise. We had booked a last minute inside guarantee-- and got on the Empress deck. It was a great location--however it was a handicapped access. room. This really isn't a problem either--but the bathroom was different! There was no separation from the shower-- meaning the bathroom floor was also the shower floor. The steward would have a towel or two to try to keep the water from totally drenching the floor-- but it often times didn't work so well. The whole floor would be sopping wet. We have never stayed in a handicapped access. room-- maybe they are all like that? It just kind of made for a really wet bathroom! No biggie-- just a head's up!:)

We have stayed in 7411 at least 3 times. no across the hall neighbor- the grey area is a storage area for the fire door. easy access to the stairs/elevators- up two decks for food/pools down two decks for entertainment. You will not be sorry with this move Another concern I have-- you referred to the cabin as a balcony suite. this is not a suite cabin- just a regular category 8. your balcony will be this wide: it has 2 chairs and a small parsons type table Edited October 18, 2011 by serene56

RM 7411 was already taken but I got 7408 which the said was the exact same spot but on the opposite side of the ship. I'm so glad I asked about the RM location because I know I wouldn't have been happy to hear loud music all morning. Thanks for the RM info also, I was under the impression it was a balcony suite. But doesn't matter we won't be spending all our time in the room.

You should get no noise from the casino unless your cabin is an odd number and between 6375 area. If you have a even number cabin is no problem. You agent will be able to move you within the same category- up on the empress deck. 7411 is the best choice.
gaylemh Posted October 23, 2011 #2300 Share Posted October 23, 2011 I'm looking to book a JS on Explorer of the Seas. There is a cabin (1328) available on the hump and it is next to friends. The only problem is it's under the ladies room on deck 11 outside the Windjammer and Portofino's. The toilets on the ship are so loud when they flush, I'm afraid all I'll hear day and night is a toilet flushing. Anyone have any experience with staying in a cabin under public restrooms?
