Bringing Wine/champagne On Board

We are cruising the Golden princess in September out of San Juan. We want to bring some wine/champagne on board with us for our room...we being winos (LOL)

Various people have said it is no problem including a good friend who just recently took the same cruise. We know the cruise lines don't actively promote this but the question is how much might be too much. We know they do not want hard liquor brought on board and might confiscate until the end of cruise. I am sure people sneek some on board anyway. Thoughts??
