ski3bee Posted February 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2007  I keep reading about Siglo, and that they are back. Sorry, but I am new here and to the PG so ...WHAT is a Siglo? Thanks, Ski
Jim B Posted February 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Siglo is a wondeful band that plays on the Paul Gauguin. It is amazing the tunes they know and how well the whole group can sing.

ski3bee Posted February 7, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Thanks, what is their style of music? Is it danceable, swing, or ? That would be to good to be true!
kimiata Posted February 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2007 They can play pretty much anything. Be sure to request Bohemian Rhapsody.
OrpingtonT Posted February 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2007 They can play pretty much anything. Be sure to request Bohemian Rhapsody. If anyone requested that it would be a signal for a lemming like leap overboard! :p
Dreps Posted February 7, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Am editing because I had questioned whether someone knew for sure that Siglo were back, but then I saw on a thread below that they are. That was the first thread on which I saw them mentioned in quite some time. They are terrific. We danced every night to them on our b2b in 2003. Last February a terrible Eastern European band was on board. That was a real disappointment.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted February 7, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Great, nice to see it confirmed that they're really back, I missed that thread. Orpington, they often play Bohemian Rhapsody during the final show, before the end of the cruise. They excel at rock and roll, but also are very good at pop tunes generally, blues, disco, island music, classics of all kinds. In general, they are all very talented musicians--I hope that this long break has brought some sparkle to them--they definitely needed a break. OrpingtonT Posted February 8, 2007 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Orpington, they often play Bohemian Rhapsody during the final show, before the end of the cruise. Bit too late to leap overboard then, I suppose. Just have to have plenty of the free booze and fall asleep.:) :) :)
poolechick Posted February 8, 2007 #11 Share Posted February 8, 2007 I wish pianist Hal Frasier would come back to the PG too. He is very entertaining!
Wendy The Wanderer Posted February 8, 2007 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Yes, Siglo is actually the leader, and has a nephew and nice, and possibly wife in the band. We had the pleasure of Hal on Voyager last year M-C to Dover, after enjoying him several trips on the PG. But I hear he's going around SA right now on Mariner!
