Mary&Jim Posted May 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2004 I am planning to put together a family cruise to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday. There will be up to 35 people joining us with an age range of 1 yr. to 75! Which would be the better cruise line? We were looking at one week to the caribbean during the summer of '05. I know RCCL has limited sailings at that time. Other that that, what about the actual cruise? Thanks for your help. MaryW
Guest Posted May 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2004 I think you'd probably enjoy either line. I'd recommend posting this question separately on the Royal Caribbean and Carnival boards, keeping in mind that you'll likely get a little bit biased opinion on whichever board is answering. Our preference would be Royal Caribbean but I'd get opinions from the various camps. While I personally enjoy the smaller ships, I'd probably recommend the larger ships for a group with such varied ages -- Voyager class for Royal Caribbean and Spirit Class for Carnival. Good luck! ~Host Anne
serene56 Posted May 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Having sailed on Carnival and on the VOyager- to me the costs will determine which line I went with. We had a blast on both lines. mar915 Posted May 29, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2004 Both our nice, the playroom is Carnival 2 and up will change diapers. Royal Caribbean 3 and up potty trained only. RCCL has private baby sitting available in room and I think Carnival will take the little ones after 10pm in there group baby sitting with a cost. I love both lines, RCCL is my favorite especially the Voyager line ( I love big ships).
