LHP Posted February 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2007 Sorry, but the casino is a designated smoking area. There have been some spotty reports about the Paradise that sails out of California trying a nonsmoking casino on a few runs..but I doubt that will last. While we have never had a cabin over the casino, we have had a cabin directly above the Cigar smoking area and we did not have a problem. If you are still concerned, simply pack a Solid Renuzit - for Strong odors. I carry one on every cruise and simply leave it in the bathroom. Happy Cruising!! cruisinbuddy Posted February 17, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2007 I sailed the Liberty in Jan. and we had a drink at the casino bar each night before dinner and never noticed the smoke. They have great ventilation and we never saw a cloud. The only time you'd have a problem is if someone was right beside you blowing it in your face. I've nevr heard of the smoke seeping into the cabins above. Don't worry, you'll love the ship it's awesome.

bubbles1209 Posted February 18, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2007 there is no smoking in the casinoSorry, but yes there is. We just got off Liberty this morning, and there were ashtrays everywhere for the smokers. You didn't see a cloud of smoke or anything ventilation was good, and there were plenty of smokers onboard. Thanks First, let me say that I'm a non-smoker. But everyone is allowed to smoke ANYWHERE on the ship unless it says that you can not smoke ther. Said another way, smokers have the higher road when it comes to smkokers. If smoking is a real bother to you, you should consider another vacation venture. I never go into a vacation venture that allows smoking, and then concern myself about it.
sherry1 Posted February 18, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted February 18, 2007 Thank you to all who have responded to my question. I was just curious regarding the smell of smoke. I am a non-smoker, but my friend who is traveling with us has allergies and I just wanted to make sure there would not be a problem. This is there first cruise and I want it to be nice for them. I realize that people smoke, it's just the way it is, but I don't plan to re-arrange our vacation. It was just a simple question and I thank you all for the simple answers. Mommyscrapper_85 Posted February 21, 2007 #13 Share Posted February 21, 2007 Sherry1- My husband and I are non-smokers as well and sailing the Liberty in August '08. I'm bothered by the cigarette smoke more now because I'm eight months pregnant. But not usually abhored by the proximity when not carrying a child. I was curious exactly how it worked with being able to smoke on board, as Carnival doesn't cover that in FAQ's. I hope that the smoke doesn't bother your sailing mate. And I'm sure that with as big as the ship is, if you were in a really smokey place you could always move. Unfortunately, until casinos aboard cruise ships go the way of casinos in Atlantic City and restaurants in CA, WA, NY and NJ, we'll have to suffer through the second-hand. Have a great cruise!
