Top 10 list for Mariner (before it leaves port)

Hi,

 

I am trying to come up with a "top 10" list of things to do/see on Mariner of the Seas for the non-sailing guests who will be attending my wedding. They will probably have a couple of hours to wander the ship before the wedding.

 

Unfortunately, I have never been on this ship before, so I am not sure what will be open while we are still in Port Canaveral.

 

Any suggestions you have would be helpful.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Did you have to get special permission for your non-sailing guests to attend the wedding? The usual rule is that only passengers may board the ship for security reasons.

It is part of the wedding package that you purchase through "Royal Romance". You can have up to 75 non-sailing guests join you on the ship for the wedding and reception before you leave port.

all the public areas should be open (not sure about the casino).

 

a stroll down the promenade would be #1 .(stores will be closed)

I doubt they would be free to roam about the ship for security. So sites will be on the way to and from the wedding/reception.

There really isn't much to do on the ship before it leaves port. The casino, spa, and shops will be closed, as well as the rollerblading, mini-golf, and rock wall. Pools open. My advice would be to A) go to the Viking Crown and enjoy the view, B) stroll the promenade C) go up and down the stairs and enjoy the artwork on the landings, D) go to the front of deck 11 and find the observation windows for the bridge.

JeffHatfield: Actually, they are able to roam the ship. They provide their picture id/info before they board, and RCCL keeps track to make sure that they all get off the ship by the designated time.

How about go out to the helipad to the "king of the world" spot? That area is restricted on some ships, and it's nice to be able to be at the very front of the ship. And "Titanic" fans can re-create the scene. :D
