EZ Luggage Program - Late Flight

Recommended Posts

Hello,

There will be 4 adults traveling together. Would welcome advise on what other alternatives are available to do with our luggage with a late flight out. Sailing on POA 5/20/07.

Can someone who has cruised on the POA, POAM and POH and used the NCL EZ luggage program tell me how it works? I have read where one couple tried to sign up onboard and only one of them were accepted?

I found a thread on this board somewhere that told about the ez luggage, but can't find the link right now.

The best I can remember is that the Ship will post information about this in the dailies that you get everyday.

You call or go to the guest desk and I think the charge is like $20.00 per person, but all airlines was not listed.

The ones I can remember people used were Delta, American and contential

Hope this helps and again I'm not sure if all this is correct.

Marcy:)

There is a review by mrtractor which describes this - it is called EZ Fly program. He states that it is $19.95. You put your bags out the night before, they deliver all boarding passes and luggage claim tickets to stateroom. It states you could have up to 6 bags - so that seems to cover plenty. His review states that they never saw bags again till they arrived at BWI(?).

Anyway, if you want to read his review, Click on Reviews,(above on the gold bar), go to Member Reviews, Pride of Hawaii, mrtractor 11/06.

Good luck.

EZ Fly- This was something new, at least for us. This program was really convenient for us. They told us to put our bags out the evening before disembarkation. Then they delivered all our boarding passes and luggage claim tickets to our stateroom. We never saw our bags again until we arrived at BWI! Since we had planned to go to Pearl before leaving, it allowed us to not worry about getting out bags, putting them on the bus and getting them into the airport security. All we had were our carry offs/ons and it worked out great. The cost was $19.95 and I think we could have checked up to six bags, although we only used four for the two of us. I'd definitely do it again, even if I wasn't going on a tour the last day.

We sailed with POAM last week & my husband was approved with the Ez Program & I was not. We flew with NW as did several others in our group & some were approved, some not. No explanation was given. I would suggest you sign up for it & if only one of you gets approved, send two of your biggest pieces of luggage through. As an alternative you can store your luggage at the Aloha Towers for $5 a bag.

We just came back from P.O.AM. (4 adults) We flew American and did the EZ fly. It was great. We went to the Arizona Memorial after leaving the ship and didn't have to schlep our luggage around. We flew nonstop to Chicago and our luggage was there with everyone else's. Also, another advantage is that as long as you can pack it in your bag, you are not penalized for overweight bags with this deal.

I guess rules have changed (flights leaving Monday)- we flew out on a Sat. evening from HNL and we used the easyfly program and were planning on using it again in August. I don't understand why it is now only for one day of the week.

I'm sure this is available on Saturday, Sunday and Monday sailings.

Anyone out there used this on days other than the Monday sailings?

The ezfly plan does not include your carryon bags. When they pick up your luggage outside your door you will not see it again until you get to your final destination. They have lockers at the Arizona Memorial but I do not know how much they are or how big they are. We saw the Memorial pre-cruise and had a rental car. Hope I helped some...

Does anyone know if/how the EZ luggage plan or other plans would work with carryons? We want to take carryons on the flight, but they aren't allowed at Pearl Harbor. Any suggestions on what we can do to store them?

If I remember correctly, the charge at the Arizona Memorial for bag storage (not lockers) is $3.00...but I don't know if that is "per person," or "per bag." BTW kruise66...how are you getting from the pier to the Arizona Memorial..?? We visited the memorial via a tour, and the bus driver/escort let us leave our bags on the bus, which he locked when he parked it...

Concerning Easy Fly...It was heavily promoted (flyers in the Freestyle Daily from mid-week on) on our POAm cruise in mid-February (must be a money-maker for NCL) and certainly is a convenience for cruisers. The cost was $20.00 per person, for 2 bags maximum. No overweight worries or charges. But what NCL DOSEN'T tell you (I had to find out the hard way...20 minutes in line at the reception desk) that it is only available for selected airlines. Five of them I think, and I don't remember which ones, as I was flying ATA, and they were not one of the participants. So the first thing to do is check to see IF your airline participates, then decide whether you want to use it or not.

We were going to take the Duck tour, and they don't allow extra bags. They told us that passengers usually just store their luggage (possibly at the pier). But we have a timing problem, having a flight out at 4:15. The tour ends at 2:30, which is when we need to be at the airport, so we were just going to leave the tour a bit early and get a cab to the airport. But now I'm wondering if this is all a good idea???
