tiggrbaby Posted March 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2007 Our cruise returns 4/8 at 8AM, and we have a 10:55AM flight. We are a group of 5. Will we be able to easily find a cab, or should we make arrangements ahead of time? If so, any recommendations? TIA!
PoohUnderstands Posted March 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2007 With 5 and all that luggage and such an early flight time, I would first go to purser's while on cruise and make sure I am in the first tag color call to disembark and then I would make arrangements ahead of time for transportation to airport which is about 10 minutes normal traffic time away. I would have said go with the cabs that will be waiting if there were only two of you, but with 5, I would pre-plan, but that is just me. Bequia Posted March 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2007 Cabs are a dime a dozen, I'd just disembark, hop in one for the 2.5 mile ride to the airport. Being first off the ship wouldn't hurt though.;)

Ltvscout Posted March 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2007 Just got off the Legend on Wednesday - there were tons of taxi's to be had. Do they have mini-van type taxis that will hold five people plus luggage?
mumofsons Posted March 3, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2007 Yes they had lots on Wednesday. There were only us and a Princess ship in port so that may make a difference.

Bequia Posted March 3, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 3, 2007 It's a metered fare, minimum will be $10 plus tip.

Bequia Posted March 4, 2007 #10 Share Posted March 4, 2007 We are returning on Easter Sunday and there will be 6 ships in port; should we worry about making arrangements ahead of time? I wouldn't. Port Everglades is the third busiest cruiseport in the country, in December they loaded and unloaded over 40,000 passengers in one day without a hitch. They have it down to a science. You'll be fine. ;)
