megry Posted March 14, 2007 #253 Share Posted March 14, 2007 regarding the question of the jacket...My son never complained about the dress code. In fact, he was quite happy to go shopping for a new dress shirt, tie, and trousers. He is a gentleman, whether or not he wears a dinner jacket! I also don't believe that wearing a formal jacket gives someone "class". That is a quality that is either inherent or instilled over years, not just from the attire we choose to wear. He also never expressed DISDAIN regarding the dress code! where did that even come from???
caribbean girl Posted March 14, 2007 #254 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Yes, dear Robert is still with us....as is Tony Curtis who I ave also worked with, though no pics on the sight. Happy birthday, Copper! Nice to know. ;) I still think Tony was more of a hottie that Robert, though he has a better singing voice. Which makes me think of the possibilties of creating the perfect MAN!!:D
CruzinTamela Posted March 14, 2007 #255 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Hubby likes to wear denim shorts and tee shirts (the nice kind - not the "Big Johnson" kind) AND his ball cap during the day as he has very short hair and his head burns easily. Is this kind of dress acceptable for just lounging around the ship during daytime hours on "at sea" days? I'm new to HAL and intend to comply fully with the evening dress codes - just thought I'd better ask about the daytime! Thanks in advance!

Rahi Posted March 14, 2007 #258 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Hi, I think I have read that they have done away with informal nights, am I right? That would mean if I don't do formal nights, I don't need for hubby to bring a jacket. , right? Thanks for your help!
mamaofami Posted March 14, 2007 #259 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Yes, they've done away with informal so hubby doesn't need a jacket if you eat in the Lido on formal nights or have room service. But be careful wandering the halls and lounges afterwards since the clothing police will be out in full force. You could be banished to the promenade deck or your cabin.:D
