We are on the transatlantic crossing 13 April. Does anyone know the temps at sea? I know what they will be in Cork, etc. and plan to pack layers, but would still like to know about at sea temps on deck on the Atlantic.

Your itinerary looks to me to be going directly NE from Ft. Lauderdale. That tells me it'll be into a northern route and I think could be quite chilly in April. I have done two fall crossings but they were further south and tended to be mild weather.

We did a transatlantic crossing last May (northern route) and it was too chilly (in the low 50's), overcast and windy (wind gusts of 50+ mph) to be out on deck most of the time. That was the only disappointment of the trip. Bring lots of reading material - it's too easy to spend too much time eating and in the casino when you don't spend time on deck.

I did the TA out of FT. Lauderdale on May 1, 2005. We stopped in St. Thomas, San Juan and then 6 days at sea. All the sea days were warm. But you are going two weeks earlier and I guess the route is slightly different since Cork is you final destination. Bring a wind breaker and long pants. Layers always make sense that time of year.

Have a Bon Voyage!

We left April 28th last year out of New Jersey and it was pretty chilly. And almost the entire crossing was cool and rough. Although we had one of those long balconies on deck 6 in amongst the royal suites, it was way too cold & windy to even go out onto the balcony! Our friends in the aft balconies were able to use them for naps, though, because they didn't have the direct wind. Nevertheless, we had a great crossing and when we finally arrived in the UK, the weather warmed up and we had a terrific week in London. I just looked at your itinerary. . .wish we were going too!!
