conversationist Posted March 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2007 I was sitting at the bar on the last day of my cruise and was chatting with some guys trying to impress each other. The topic was who had the biggest BAR BILL. I do not necessarily believe them, but some of the guys claimed they had bar bills approaching $500 for the week. If it is $5.00 a drink average and they had ten drinks a day that would still be less than $500, but who knows? What was your BAR BILL on your last cruise and can you picture someone drinking $500 in beer, wine and mixed drinks on a 7 night cruise?
JillinCalgary Posted March 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2007 Don't forget a bottle of wine can average $40 or so. And yes, a bucket of beer to ones self while lounging by the pool side over the afternoon? Easy. What about all the bloody mary's I see you American's drinking in the morning with breakfast? (I'll take a Ceaser please, lol) A few I'm sure would be easy to through back. And don't forget juice, pop, smoothies, virgin drinks, etc. all cost money. Can you tell I enjoy my drinks while on vacations? lol I don't ever worry about how much I'm spending. Our onboard account is always very high ($2000 a week for our family). Hey, I'm on vacation! julieanne Posted March 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2007 Our is usually about $400 per week which includes massages or some photos, tours, etc. We did sail with another couple one time whose bar bill was over $1700 for 14 days and theirs was LIQUOR :D! Rare KKB Posted March 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2007 I think our bar bill alone was $700 for a week... I fear prices have gone up a bit in 2 years, so am bringing some wine of my own...but I am frightened! I will let you know next weekend... We are off! bububr Posted March 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2007 $450.00. We did however buy a couple of drinks for friends also. Truthfully, Dave:eek: BTW: As someone said a bottle of wine has a big markup, a cheap one will run you 40, anything nice will be in the 75 to 100 range just like home. Also top shelf liquors are marked up. One bottle we bought was $125.00 so we decided to look for it at home. We found it here for $65.00.
thechandlers99 Posted March 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2007 Our bar bill is not usually very high as DH does not drink. On our last Carnival cruise, we ran into some people we know and it was the 2nd day of the cruise and their bar bill was already $500. They drank non stop and bought drinks for a lot of people. maryhou Posted March 10, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2007 Our bill came to $900.... that included a few photos, soda cards, and several buckets of beer as well as bingo. Bingo/raffle area worked out well for me on the night before we left I won the raffle for a free cruise. Needless to say I thought since I had won a FREE cruise I would have my hubby and myself celebrate . I bought I think 4-5 buckets of beer that night. OMG we had entirely too much to drink. I do not plan on doing that again this time :)

RonneyKay Posted March 10, 2007 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2007 On our cruise, our Sea Pass bill was 515.00. This included 2 pictures and 15 dollars worth of suvinears. The rest... all liquor! I suggest Long Island Iced Teas... more bank for your buck:) Oh, did I mention our cruise was only a 3 nighter? hahahha Fun times!
