I never thought about taking the Majesty maybe because of how old the ship was or that I was spoiled on the Radiance and Jewel who knows. But after reading their reviews of the Majesty I decided to book it for the end of May for a 4 day cruise. Reading their reviews made me change my mind even though the ship does not have all the bells and whistles of a Radiance class I got to see through their experience that I would have a good time. It is a cruise how can you not have a great time and the ship sounds great since it has be renovated. So to both of you thanks for your reviews and having me try something I would not of normally done.

 

I do have one question I have Johnny Rockets and seatle Best coupons from my Crown and anchor coupon book can I use it on the Majesty

We have been on the Majesty twice....no question...she is gorgeous! Second time we were on her was after being on the Mariner. Yes, I did miss all the bell and whistles that Mariner had that Majesty did not. Still had a GREAT time! Just saw Majesty last week at one of the islands we were at on the Voyager. She is STILL beautiful!! Docked side by side to the Voyager, yes, she was a lot smaller.......................but VERY appealing! You will LOVE her.............

I thought the same thing...Uh oh, I'm in trouble now!

 

Well, I sure used up my old coupons on the Majesty. I didn't take my JR coupons though because they were for a 7 day cruise and I didn't think they'd take them. They would have. As it turned out the LA gave us coupons for JR from a stack of them that were for 7 day cruises.

 

I used up all my matchplay coupons in the casino, too. When I placed a gold coupon and a diamond coupon down on the roulette table during the same play, I thought I was going to be in big trouble. I was tempted to grab one back so it wouldn't be so obvious that I was using old coupons. :)

 

The only coupons that I know won't work if you double them up are the internet access coupons. They will only apply one to your individual account and they make you fill out the coupons since they apply it before you log in.

 

The worst part about the Majesty cruise is the usual - you have to get off. :) 3 or 4 days doesn't seem like long enough. As usual I didn't get a chance to do it all. The ship can't be that small or I'd have run out of things to do.

I have always found mommabeans post to be informative as well as Parrothead and for that I am thankful. Now I had booked my cruise on the Majesty way back In Jan. and then found this forum and I am thankful that I have. I know my coworkes look at me like i am crazy at time cause I'll be reading a post and bust out in such a tickle adn they dont know why :p and I tell them "its one of those you hadd to be there things!!"

Our first cruise was on Radiance in January and we just got off Majesty this week. I was a little leery about the older and smaller ship, but we had a GREAT time! Cabins were a little small but that didn't bother us, dining room service was better than on Radiance, and we never felt crowded while on board.

 

The ship is just gorgeous. Have fun! :cool:

Lucky you! No, we just had the regular 3,4,5 night cruise booklets. For use on this sailing only. Haha!

 

We didn't have treadmills. We didn't have the electronic blackjack tables either. I've heard that they are still finishing up during the initial sailings after a refurb.

 

Was the carpeting falling off the stairs yet? Or did they reseam the edges? That was my biggest refurb complaint - not that it affected my fun or pleasure.

I had a problem with the rust in the swimming pools already. What's up with that?? And they need more hot tubs. Two very small ones just weren't enough, lol.

That is funny you asked......I intentionally pointed that out to my husband as we walked up the stairs(tried not to use the elevator......and trust me, our calves killed us after a couple of days..not used to stairs at all)............But yes, the carpets were like you said........

 

I also noticed new bedding going in on deck 8........

 

Mary-I wouldnt go near those hot tubs with the bubble bath effect..:eek:

Can someone tell me how many ships RCCL had in 89? My sister went on a RCCL cruise, and she can't remember the name of ship? I didn't think there were too many back then were there? Is the Majesty of the Sea's on of the older ones? If so when was it's last refirb?
