MTJSR Posted March 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2007 While taking a Sitmar cruise many years ago in Alaska, some passengers caught fish and had it prepared onboard for them. I assume that is not possible these days, but one never knows. Has anyone had that kind of service provided on any of these bigger ships with many more passengers ? geejay Posted March 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 22, 2007 We had this done 4 years ago on the Diamond Princess. We asked our head-waiter the night before and he told us how to bring the fillets back onto the ship and where to take them. The fish was cooked and beautifully presented in the dining room that night. However, if you are on a Princess excursion it is all catch and release... Rare Coral Posted March 22, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2007 I have seen this done on Princess in Alaska. I would ask the head waiter before going on your fishing trip.

I, too, have heard of this on our Princess cruise a few years ago. I thought it was a neat thing. We didn't do it, we just kayaked and the salmon were jumping out of the water and you could almost touch them!! This was around the first week of August. MTJSR Posted March 22, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted March 22, 2007 Thank you. I would imagine even a stubborn head waiter might find a nice tip persuasive as long as everyone wasn't asking for the same thing.
