vacationingdiva Posted March 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2007 I am sorry if this is repetitious, but what is the difference between the letters of a certain category? We are going to be 8G. Is that really any different from 8A? They told us it was an update? Thanks! Vacationingdiva READY to cruise!
blwms Posted March 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2007 In most cases the letter means a different location or deck. Higher letters are usually considered better locations. But location preference is a personal choice. Some people prefer higher decks..some lower.
vacationingdiva Posted March 23, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted March 23, 2007 Thanks--that makes sense. The rooms all seemed to be the same size. I have cruised twice before but for some reason never noticed!

You are on a Spirit class ship (Spirit, Pride, Legend or Miracle). The eight means it is a balcony cabin. The "G" means that it is an extended balcony on the Verandah deck. The Spirit class ships have normal balconies (40 sq ft) and extended balconies (60 sq ft). A & B are normal balconies. Then it alternates. C, E, G & I are extended balconies. D, F, H are normal balconies. The Main deck is full of 8As and has a few 8Cs on the aft only. The Upper deck has 8Bs and 8Cs. The Empress deck has 8Ds and 8Es. The Verandah deck has 8Fs and 8Gs. The Panorama deck has 8Hs and 8Is.
