Automatic Gratuities?

It's been quite a while since I have cruised Royal Caribbean and I was wondering if they do what Princess does - put automatic tips on your shipboard account? We leave this Sunday on the Mariner and I want to have an idea about how much cash I need to bring.

You will be given an opportunity (with a deadline) to have tips put on your seapass account. You can visit the casino and get extra cash (for extra tips or whatever) if needed.

Here is the great and easy to figure tip Calculator by CC tpkeller if you prefer to give the envelopes instead of putting it on your Sea Pass account. This will tell you how much extra cash you will need.

When you sign up for the tips to go on your seapass, in your stateroom the last day of the cruise you will receive vouchers for each of the people you are tipping plus envelopes. The envelopes are marked as well as the vouchers as to who gets what. We just put the voucher in the envelope and gave it to the waiters etc the last night. You can add extra cash if you desire at that time to. Nice way to do it so you have something to actually give in person.
