Restuarant Recommendations in Georgetown for Lunch

So, after our tour, we thought of heading to the new Margaritaville for lunch, but after reading the disappointing thread decided not to. We still want to just check it out and get some pictures, but where is a good place to eat in that area? Also how is Sr. Frogs in GC?

Also how is Sr. Frogs in GC?

Did you mean Senior Frogs in Cozumel? I found that place to be pushy, expensive, and annoying if your weren't drunk. The shot waiter kept trying to push shots on my 15 & 16 year old, while we were sitting at the table and after saying "no" 5 times!

I always like to eat on the ship, it is already paid for.

Sr Frogs is a crowded, loud place-- We ate in a very nice restaurant across the street from Sr Frogs called Bacchus. Great menu from burgers to real food/wine list . lovely service & environment. Not overly expensive... No view--except of Sr frogs but it is a convenient walk from the cruise ship port.

We ate at margaritaville last week while in Grand Cayman and had a lot of fun! We thought it was very entertaining for everyone in our group (yes we had kids and they loved dancing and doing the macarana) had a great time, lots of laughs, I recommend it!

Our favorits place to eat in Grand Cayman is Eats cafe, but it's about a 10 minute drive from Gerogetown.Menu has lots of stuff and decent prices also.Have ate there a few times before and after the hurricane, and never had a bad meal.Mike.

  • 2 weeks later...

Coconut Joe's. Good food, love their chicken fajita's and their nacho's. A really cool set up. The seats at the bar area are rope swings, the tree in the middle of the outside eating area is over a 100 years old. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it. Have fun.

We enjoyed Breezes when we were there last May, really good food and a great view of the ocean. Its right across the street from the tender dock and on the second floor.

My vote goes to Breezes as well.

Well, we're back from our cruise and went to Margaritaville anyway, as our port time was very limited after our tour on the Aqua Boats, and we wanted to stay close to the pier. It was terribly crowded especially in the merchandies store, but we were quickly seated in the dining area. There was a MC directing games with the patrons for free drinks or T-shirts. We had 2 cheeseburgers, which were good, with fries, 1 Corona and 1 small house margarita for $60.00. Ouch! Had a decent time, but if we ever get to Grand Cayman again, we would definatly skip it.

Just in case anyone is interested...I found the post I posted with the Hard Rock menu. I do think there were more things on the menu, but this is all that was listed in the delivery service brochure.

Below the HR menu is the Breezes menu. Ask for the "bar" menu in addition to the regular menu. The bar menu had lots of things that the regular one didn't have...and also smaller portions...or things without the side dishes.

Just remember that most restaurants and bars will add the tip to the bill...although some didn't. Make sure and take a good look at your bill before adding a tip. We double-tipped once without realizing this.

We really enjoyed Breezes about the best. We loved Coconut Joe's but you really need a car to get there...or take a cab. Our condo was right across the street, so we ate at CJ's many times...and enjoyed it a lot.

The prices posted are in CD.

If you are posting Breezes prices from their menu, those are Cayman dollars. US prices are 25% more. Still a great take for lunch but costs a little more.

I mentioned that it was in CD in my post. :)

When we were there, there was a 20% difference. It was that way the entire week...so I don't know how often this changes.
