AZ TRAVEL Posted April 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2007 Hello everyone, After watching one of my favorite TV shows, Extreme Makeover Home Edition on ABC this evening a thought occurred to me. I think it would be really nice if Carnival would contribute a seven day cruise vacation to a selected family. For anyone not familiar with the show ABC builds a new home for a selected deserving family in seven days while they get to go on vacation. I do not recall any cruise vacations utilized during the build and I would love to see Carnival contribute to this wonderful program. I would live to hear everyone’s thoughts
Jenna1983 Posted April 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2007 I've noticed that ABC and EMHE typically do vacations that they somehow have some type of financial investment in. Therefore, I'd imagine they'd go to Disney Cruiselines rather than Carnival!

truecruiser Posted April 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2007 suggest to them (abc) that they get DCL to do it. after all, disney owns abc (or is it the other way around?).
Jenna1983 Posted April 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2007 The Walt Disney company does indeed own ABC. ABC was originally owned by RCA, who is now NBC Universal.

gizfish Posted April 9, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2007 Some of the families in the past have actually gone on DCL cruises while the makeover was happening. They also often send families to Disney World, Disney Land or other Disney owned properties. I believe one episode had the family go on an "Adventures by Disney" vacation which is Disney's new upper scale travel company that offeres personalized family vacations to areas other than Disney. CruiseCentric Posted April 9, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2007 I agree, since Disney owns ABC, its highly unlikely they would allow Carnival to give away a cruise on their network.
