LouChamp Posted May 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Hello all. Justback from the QM2. A family of about 22 to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. Let me say the ship was wonderful. If you do not have a good time, I would say that perhaps you need to unwind a little. The ship was fabulous. Service in Britannia was inconsistent but not a disaster. Todd English fantastic. Kings Court, the Spa. I am busy unpacking, etc and will have a full report in a few days. I just wanted all my CC friends who are going on her to relax, not worry, enjoy the pre departure prep planning, smile and you will have a great time. By the way...I signed the log great to see people I read on these posts. All for now. Give me a few days for details! vince_g Posted May 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Hi Lou, Where is the Cruise Critic log located? I'll be on the QM2 in just over 3 weeks now, and of course want to sign the log. nautiboy Posted May 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Cruise Critic book is in the library at the checkout/sales desk. I signed it too. I had a wonderful time too. There's just so much to explore on the ship. However, for me service was a big problem (but only in terms of speed not in courtesy) and a lot of people echoed my setiments. Second seating dinner in the Britania didn't open until 9 pm. It wasn't uncommon to have to wait 25 minutes for food to arrive. This happened both at breakfast in the Britania and in the pub. And now that most ships have stations in the buffet and things move quickly, it was a surprise to find slow lines in the Kings Court. I joked that they ought to name the ship the Queue M2! But I have to say that once the food arrived I forgot about the wait because everything was so good. This was probably the best welcom aboard buffet I've experienced. Loved the fish & chips in the Golden Lion Pub. Prime rib w/yorkshire pudding in the Carvery. Chilled artichoke soup in the Britania. Illuminations with its planetarium is spectacular. I could go on, there were so many places to explore. But they do need a bigger indoor pool. Maybe they could chop off the funnel .
juneann Posted May 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Did you find service any faster in the alternate restaurants? Todd English? etc? If the dining room opens so late, does that mean you will miss the late show? Thanks for the info. June
