  1. Aloha. Thank you for the information!!
  2. Aloha. Always enjoy your reporting. Have a wonderful time!!!
  3. Aloha. Totally enjoying your reporting. We have been blessed to sail QM2 since 2004 and in all the dining classes. A most wonderful ship. I enjoyed your reporting about the bow thruster doors. If I remember correctly one fell off during her sea trials and resulted in having to have a replacement fabricated. Interesting that it is now determined they are no longer needed. Thank you again and all best regards!
  4. Aloha. Allow me to translate… we want to save the company money.
  5. Aloha. Not surprisingly when a company wants to save money they always try to make us feel happy they are doing so. The story about saving the environment is a perfect example. I would respect them more if they were honest and accept their decision making and truthful explanation. That said May everyone have a blessed thanksgiving!
  6. Aloha. Same to you and yours and a speedy recovery!
  7. Aloha. Happy thanksgiving to you and yours. I was just thinking of you as I reminisced about the many enjoyable memories of holidays at sea. This year we are home with the family celebrating our grandson and his first thanksgiving. All blessings!
  8. Aloha. Wishing you a wonderful voyage. We are blessed to divide our time between New York and Honolulu. May you have many happy experiences and a great and blessed Thanksgiving!
  9. Aloha. Regarding menus, it is one of the reasons that while we have been blessed to cruise for decades and with various lines, I love the variety of the different cruise lines and ships. Although top tier or near on the mainstreams, I rarely sail the same ship more than twice and even different hotels in cities. Just for fun mostly. The differences between the lines seem to be more striking lately than years ago. By the way the QM2 is one of the exceptions as I cannot count the number of repeats since 2004. As always the best to you two and thank you for your reporting and pictures!
  10. Aloha. I always enjoy your reporting and wish you a safe journey home. All blessings!!!
  11. Aloha. Have been blessed to sail QM2 countless times since 2004. May you have a safe and enjoyable voyage!
  12. Aloha. Vicente is not too far from my abode! As many readers may know we are blessed to divide our time between NY and Honolulu. Grew up near the original Litlle Italy location and still have a presence in Manhattan and Long Island. Since you dine out regularly as we do our paths must have crossed over the years. While I enjoy making my own sauce, the Vincent’s sauce is a little too sweet for me so they also have a less sweet marinara which I ask for when I order the family dinner !
  13. Aloha. have been blessed to enjoy the French toast since 2004 on countless voyages. Not sure if it was the same on the other Cunard ships. I don’t remember it on the QE2 even though we were in QG many times also. that said it is something that is memorable and certainly delicious!
  14. Praying for the health and recovery of your fellow passenger. Please keep us posted if you hear anything. Thank you
  15. Aloha. Have been blessed to cruise since 1971 sailing the Drake Passage, Transatlantic, Transpacific, South Pacific and concerning your inquiry the Bay of Biscay. I personally enjoy the rough seas. The Mrs not so much but she never let it deny her the opportunity of cruising the world. In her opinion nothing was as rough as the ferry to Capri. Cruising anywhere can be rough at times. Sailing to Bermuda and even the Caribbean. I would suggest go and enjoy and pack whatever remedies you believe may assist you but don’t really fret it.
  16. Aloha. Thinking of you and hope by the time you read this you are at sea.
  17. Aloha. Yes both NY and Honolulu have changed but so it goes. One can only adapt and enjoy life. Oh… the French Toast in the QG is spectacular!!!
  18. Aloha. Yes born and raised downtown Manhattan. Now also near Carnegie Hall. The city changes from time to time so I take it all in stride.
  19. Aloha. As you may recall I have been blessed to sail Cunard countless times since 1977 in several ships and stateroom classes and in Queens Grill for about 30 years. I had my parents 50 anniversary celebration on a cruise in May 2004 in the QM2 with around 50 friends and family and love Cunard. That said your opinions and food pictures lol are so beautiful and enjoyable that I look forward to reading about your voyage. We divide our time between NY and Honolulu and our in NY now because we are new grandparents. Our view of the harbor allows us to see the ships sail and of course that precious statue! Have a wonderful trip.
  20. Aloha. Blessed to sail on the Sky when it was the Pride of Aloha. Born and raised in Manhattan we now divide our time between New York and Honolulu. That said I hope you have a magical voyage and look forward to reading your reports. Smooth sailing!!!
  21. Aloha. Thank you for your postings. Have been blessed to sail both lines from Southampton and always love the different atmosphere. I don’t care where we sail to lol! Thanks again
  22. Aloha. Love your style of writing and your enthusiasm! We are blessed to divide our time between NY and Honolulu and look forward to your review and especially food pictures lol. Have a wonderful voyage.
  23. Aloha. Another issue which came to mind since you are arriving from a TA is that there are generally Customs and Immigration issues. I know the departures are generally delayed because of Coast Guard issues but unsure of the arrival delays. I have been blessed to sail many TAs but honestly never calculated an early flight and wish you well. All the best for a wonderful trip
  24. Aloha. Blessed to cruise since 1971 and born and raised in Manhattan and now divide our time between NY and Honolulu. That said I remember sailing regularly between NY and Hamilton Bermuda on Holland, Home, Royal, Celebrity, etc. Ahh...those memories! Sad but small ships as we knew them are gone except for the high end lines. We take trips by air often so have realized that the reality is to not necessarily accept but adapt though I do miss those years.
