Marie-Claude Posted April 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Hi! I've sailed to SA on the Golden Princess, which not one of the ship listed. However, I sailed the MAGICA to the Mediterranean (with Egypt) in 2005. Knowing the itinerary and the ship, I would definitely try to go on a smaller ship. The Magica has just too many people on her... it was always a nightmare to disembark and re-embark the ship. And I don't mention the line-ups at the buffet. But the SA cruise is a wonderful itinerary and is one of my favorite so far!! Good Luck! MC
Pia1913 Posted April 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2007 Surely SOMEONE has sailed a South American itinerary on one of these ships  If so, PLEASE post your impressions! The problem is that most people don't cruise Costa after the first time.
Wotan758 Posted April 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2007 We have been cruising with Costa in Brazil every season since 1999. We loved! Magica is coming for the first time next season and we have already booked for reveillon cruise. Last season the cruise in her sister: Fortuna. We also cruise with Vitoria, a very nice ship, but smaller then Fortuna. During the season, Costa ships are adapted for Brazilians: food to local taste (similar to european), portuguese is the spoken language, and most of the staff is portuguese speaking.
