Is the Facial worth it??

I regularly have facials and will treat myself to one on the next cruise. It seems the lotus spa on the Grand only offers one type---The Hydralift. There is really no description of this facial. Has anyone else had one and if so could you share your experience. Was it worth it? Thanks.

Once on board and visit the spa, you will probably see more options. At least that has been my experience when sailing on Princess. Every facial I've had at the Lotus Spa have been done very well. On the Coral last year, my facial was actually customized for me and my skin type. If you enjoy having facials, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Just beware, they will attempt to sell you many products. I just tell them no thank you.

A friend of mine who is an esthetician had a facial on a Princess ship--not sure which one this past year and said the products were not good. She uses Esthederm in her practice.

Since I just had a facial, I won't be getting a facial on the Coral in two weeks.

I recently got back from the Diamond Princess (3/24-3/31). I had a facial. I forget what they called it but I would say it was customized for my skin type. Be prepared for them to push high priced products on you. I always fall for this because by the time the facialist is done telling me what's wrong with my skin, I feel demoralized and ready to buy anything. But the main reason I won't get another on a cruise is that it made my face break out. I do have very sensitive skin, so maybe this wouldn't happen to you. But I was unhappy with how my face looked for several days and it certainly put me off buying more photos! After a few day the "reaction" went away and my skin actually did look much better. But in retrospect I think I'll stick to facials at home in a familiar spa.

I agree with you that they can make you feel that only a fool could look the way you do and not want to buy this product which will make you drop dead beautiful. Were all these spa people former Time share salespeople. How many more folks would go back to a cruise spa if it wasn't for this "push" at the end of the wonderful experience.

My DH had the "ultimate Shave" on our last Star Princess Cruise and he said ....."Men. if you let this one go.....shame on you!" He even talked three of the other men in our party into getting it done and they all said the same thing.
