dres40 Posted April 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We want to book a triple balcony cabin on Triumph for myself, DH and DD (5 years old). All triple balconies have upper berths. We really don't want small child in the upper and would rather not lose space by using rollaway. Has anyone ever made up the loveseat for a small child to sleep on? Do back cushions come off? BuyRiteTV Posted April 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2007 If it is the same as the Liberty loveseat, my 9 year old did it last week for 8 nights and hd no complaints.

Yes the backs come off and a adult can sleep on it, so should be no problem for a child( I would also not put a young child up that high)
crusinmama06 Posted April 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2007 Yup, a child could sleep on it, the loveseat would be made up into a bed, no problem. I agree, no kids on upper berths...not even my 7 year old. ;)
caribbean dreams Posted April 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2007 my Daughter was 10 when she chose to sleep on the loveseat and it worked out fine.
Donna - dsw Posted April 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2007 Okay - crazy question time. We have three adults with the sleeper sofa balcony option - how comfortable is this for an adult.
dres40 Posted April 14, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks very much to all for their replies. Just want to be sure we are talking about the smaller loveseat, not the convertible sofa. Looking at the deck plans for the Triumph the only balcony rooms with convertible sofa are the quad balcony cabins that also have the upper berths. All the trible rooms only have the upper births for the 3rd person, with smaller loveseat for seating. Was hoping it was ok for 5 year old to sleep on this small loveseat.:)

Good thing our youngest was only 9, because it was too small for anyone else to sleep on!
Donnask8pro Posted April 15, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 15, 2007 My 6 yr old slept in the upper berth on Triumph. He does sleep in the top bunk at home in his room.
shipty2 Posted April 15, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 15, 2007 My son who was five at the time LOVED the upper berth and he had never slept in any sort of bunk before. He loved that he was at eye level with the tv.
CyClore Posted April 15, 2007 #11 Share Posted April 15, 2007 I will be able to tell you next week! We have a balc for 3 people and the son is 10 years old. We will see on the triumph how this works. He has the option for the upper or the couch... I will let you know once I get back. I will try to grab a picture...
Jenna1983 Posted April 15, 2007 #12 Share Posted April 15, 2007 An adult is fine sleeping on the sofa. I did it on this last cruise. I slept perfectly fine and I sleep on foam at home.
moxie99 Posted April 15, 2007 #13 Share Posted April 15, 2007 they have guardrails, kids love 'em - I even climbed up one night to test how comfy it was - no complaints. My daughter would be insulted to think she had to sleep on the sofa.
Patdmoose Posted April 15, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 15, 2007 My 4 yr old grandson loved the upper! We felt the design was very good from a safety standpoint. We will be taking him back this Aug. (he is now 6), and his 4 yr old brother. Check it out after you arrive on board and make the decsion.
Rare PattiPB Posted April 16, 2007 #15 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Not to hijack your thread...but here I go! We have 6 balcony cabins on the Triumph this summer on the Empress deck. What will the sleeping arrangements be for the cabins with four people? Will we have a pull-down from the ceiling and a converted couch, or will we have a rollaway brought in? If anybody has a good idea of what we'll face, thanks for letting me know!
