Need recs for Western excursions!

HI!

 

We are doing western caribbeean again (2nd time) and need some fresh ideas.....last time we went to stingray city by catamaran in grand cayman, tubing on the white river in jamaica and it was a disaster in cozumel because our excursion got cancelled last minute and we scrambled to some awful beach.....

 

we LOVED both of the other excursions...any suggestions?

Just a personal preference:

 

Paradise Beach at Cozumel- fun beach day, great food and drinks, good beach.

Canopy Tour/Jamaica- Fantastic!

Grand Cayman- I usually go to 7 mile beach and then shop at that port. They have great snorkling and diving as many of my friends have stated.

 

Either way have a great cruise!

My husband and son can't stop talking about the 4x4 safari thing (with the 2 seater 4x4 vehicles) in Cozumel. It combined a drive, swim/snorkel, some wildlife, and a great taco!

We are doing the same itinerary and have yet to select excursions. The brochure for our cruise is 68 pages.

In Cozumel we just grabbed a cab $10 to Chankanaab ---admission was 14 with the coupon at cozumelinsider.com great beach and gardens--chair hammocks and shade all included---has a pool--shops--restaurants and snorkle (rent or byo) ---nice place---relaxing day not crowded at all and we had 7 ships in port that day

In Jamaica, we loved climbing Dunn's River Falls - it was beautiful and a real fun adventure!

In Cozumel, I would highly reccommend to try Intro to Scuba if you are interested. It was amazing! My DH is still talking about that excursion. No certifications are required! After the morning scuba diving, we rented a little electric car (it was an egg-shaped golf cart - $40 for the day) and drove to the beaches. Couldn't beat the day - We can't wait to go back!

 

We are always try to find the active excursions and do a little something out of the ordinary for us since we live by the beach. Hope this helps. Enjoy the trip!

Personally, I don't think you will beat the inner tube rafting!!!!! :cool:

I'll throw in my recommendation to doing a day at Rum Point beach when you're in Grand Cayman. That place is even better if you've got kids.

Just suggestion: In Cozumel- if you are interested in history: Take the Tulum Express tour. This is the only Mayan Ruin that is right on the Caribbeen Sea. there is Even a Beach If you Would like to swim.

No Idea on Grand Cayman: RCCL cancelled our tour last minute. So we shopped and then went back to the boat and Spent the day at the pool.

On Jamaica - we did the "Taste of Jamaica" Tour. It was Very interesting.

Did the powerboat excursion in Cozumel when we were there last, and doing it again this July. It was a BLAST!!

We loved the Punta Sur eco reserve in Coz. Also, if you want to go to the mainland, X-Caret eco Park was really neat. (obviously we like nature type activities).
