  1. We are sailing on Harmony of the Seas. They requested print material on the ship and the sailings. I'm 700 miles away from them so I can't go over and walk them through it!
  2. I am planning a family reunion cruise and the most senior family members have asked if there is a print brochure. They do not have email or a computer. Is there anyway to get a brochure for them without printing the 92 page digital one on the website?
  3. We are doing a family reunion in Sept of 2024 and many family members are wheelchair users. Does anyone know if the over water cabanas are accessibly? I know there are beach wheelchairs, but the transfers would be difficult. Thanks!
  4. Our last cruise was on RC after many on Celebrity. We didn't even know we were Diamond + and had the free drinks. We were so glad that we didn't buy a drink package! It was a great surprise.
  5. We've done this a couple of times. We planned one excursion during the cruise that everyone went on and had dinner reservations for the entire group each evening. This has worked out great. The older generations and the younger generations were very happy! Enjoy the time with your family.
  6. We did this on Celebrity 5 years ago in Alaska. The ship had a representative with us. We didn't know why until my FIL hit the water. She contacted the Captain who blew the ships horn as soon as the urn hit the water. My MIL received a beautiful burial certificate with the date, time, and coordinates of the burial. It was beautiful. My in-laws meet in Alaska and loved cruising so it was perfect.
  7. The specialty restaurants usually are only open for lunch on sea days. I say usually in case this has changed since my last cruise.
  8. It sounds like it is so much better. When we sailed FOS the CD was always announcing something.....especially Bingo....all day long. It sounds like it is closer to Celebrity with the Captain's noon announcements now. Thanks!
  9. Our last cruise on Royal was in 2009. We've been sailing on Celebrity since then and are now back to Royal. One of the things that we hated on Royal, the only thing we hated, were the constant announcements . On FOS we had a speaker on our veranda! Now with the app, is it still bad? We need to always drive to port, so Royal out of Galveston it is. A loud cruise is better than no cruise, so I just want to set expectations. Thanks.
  10. We bought a passbook holder that has a place for the vac cards. We just decided to always have them when we travel incase things change while we are gone. This is all still very fluid.
  11. My Apple watch has airplane mode so that should keep it from connection to the Internet. It also mirrors my iPhone. Will that put my phone in airplane mode. I'm not bringing a tablet or computer so my phone will be my lifeline to home....if needed. Fur babies!
  12. Our Diamond status is from Celebrity cruises, so when I booked this cruise I purchased the non-acholic drink package for the water and coffee drinks. I thought we got 4 drinks per cruise for each of us. Silly me. How will the bartenders know not to use a voucher for a mocktail or coffee?
  13. My son tested negative before a 3 hour flight. He tested again as soon as he got home and it was positive. We are talking 4 hours here. I don't see how the testing helps.
  14. That's our lift. My husband is primary progressive and has had was diagnosed 25 years ago.
  15. Which lift do you use? And how do you manage? My husband is as good as paralyzed. He only has a little bit of strength left in his arms. This is a horrible disease.
  16. Port of Galveston parking is just across the street.
  17. My husband also has MS. We have a hoyer lift and it really does take 2 people to do the transfer. We keep for this times he ends up on the floor and then I call someone over to help me get him in the harness. Have you tried a transfer board yet?
  18. While my husband was able to transfer from a chair to a wheelchair or scooter regular rooms worked out okay. We did book suites for more space, but there a lots of people who have scooters in regular state rooms. Now that he is in a full size power chair we have to have the accessible room. Call Special Needs at Sea and tell them your situation. The can provide things in your current room, if another isn't available, to make the cruise work for you.
  19. My husband is disabled so driving is now the only option. We used to live in Chicago and would fly to any port, but those days are sadly gone.
  20. I'm hoping that Celebrity will send a few ships our way! Driving from Austin to board LOS in 2 weeks!
  21. So, this is 4 drinks per day and not 4 drinks per sailing?
  22. My son proposed to his wife on Adventure of the Seas. It was the first formal night and he was very nervous. He asked her to go for a walk on the pool deck but she wanted to stay inside. He insisted they take a walk and this pissed her off. So in the middle of being chewed out, he got down on one knee and popped the question. She burst into tears, said yes, and continued chewing him out. This was 18 years and three wonderful children ago. Do what feels right and congratulations.
  23. We expedited a renewal and got it in 2 weeks. You have time if you do it now. Also, I do believe in the USA it is 6 months. So, this would apply to coming home.
  24. We just got an email for our Sept 11th cruise. Any cruise over 9 days still must test.
