chaffin514 Posted April 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2007 Hubby and I are considering this cruise in the fall. Is there a formal night on this sailing? I would appreciate any recommendations for sights not to miss. Thanks.......

LHP Posted April 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2007 If it is Carnival, a 4 or 5 day cruise will have one formal night. A 7 day cruise will have 2 formal nights. Have a great cruise.
nybumpkin Posted April 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2007 On both the 4 and 5-night Carnival sailings, there is one formal night - first full day at sea. You might want to check the ports of call board regarding excursions in Saint John and Halifax. Both ports are easy to do on your own. One we'd recommend in Halifax is the Harbour Hopper tour - the one-hour tour on an amphibious bus/boat. The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic has an excellent Titanic exhibit. We also went to Keith's Brewery in Halifax; it's a lot of fun. As for food, in Saint John we had lunch at Steamer's, right across the street from the dock. In Halifax, we went to Stayner's Pub on the waterfront. Both were very good.
