Sorry, don't have a clue..It may depend on the Policy..

 

Suggest you read your policy, or the one you are considering carefully, to get this question answered..

I'd almost be willing to bet that it's covered. But Betty is correct in advising you to check the various policies and their provisions.

Most, but not all, policies will cover you if you're called up for some sort of natural disaster duty such as what happened with Hurricane Katrina.

 

But those same plans also usually exclude a call up for something like being sent to Iraq.

 

For example, this is from CSA:

 

"an Insured or Traveling Companion is in the Military and called to emergency duty for a national disaster other than war; "

 

And this is from Travelex:

 

"You or Your Traveling Companion being called to the emergency service of government in the case of military, reservists, police or fire personnel for a natural disaster other than war; "

 

This is one of those cases where, if you're using a cruise line that has a plan that lets you cancel for any reason with a credit toward a future cruise, it might be a good idea to check that out as an option.
