The "How many times a day do YOU do it?" thread, made me wonder just how many Cruise Critic members, are at work when they post on these boards.

Below is a quote from that thread. (Steve, hope you don't mind!)

I enjoy these type of threads yet no one ever realizes the damage that could be done. A several years ago when I was working there was a similar thread and it was discovered that one of the employees was going on CC. Thanks to the roll call section we were able to find out not only who it was,but 3 more that were going on the same cruise.

They all got fired prior to their cruise.Only 1 had insurance.

SO watch out when posting that you do it at work.

This really got me thinking, so I asked my DH what he would do if his employees were participating on non-work related message boards while on company time. He said he would first have a talk with them about "using their time wisely," and if that didn't work, he would have to take more drastic action.

So, how many of you (those that work away from home and for someone else), do spend part of your work day reading and posting on Cruise Critic? Please take the poll and be honest. It's anonymous!

That's the truth!

We once had a elementary school janitor that everyone loved. Just after the school received new computers (he was in charge of cleaning them and taken care of them,) it was discovered through a "spy" program that someone was watching porn on the computers. Guess who they tracked downed? Yep, the guy that joked around and laughed with our kids everyday...the janitor!

I work at home, do not have set hours, and thus can do personal stuff during "working hours". As long as my work is done and I am on my conference calls, they do not care. We can do work at night or on weekends, we can do it during normal hours or not, it is up to us, as long as we log our 40 hrs a week.

Wow, honestly I don't think I'd survive working all day without CruiseCritic! It gives me something to do, it can get verrry sloooooooooow sometimes! It also gives me a reason to:

1. Not call in sick

2. Not leave early

3. Volunteer for the overtime

4. Not to spend so much money on lunch (so it can go into the cruise fund)

I can work and be online at the same time just fine. Let's just say that I can type VERY fast, and I'm one heck of a multi-tasker. Besides, I'm trying to convince my boss to go cruising with me, and she likes it when I have lots of convincing information for her. :)

I guess if your boss doesn't mind (that is - that he knows what you are doing on the Internet), then it's OK, but I can't believe all the posters that are logging into Cruise Critic while at work!

I also posted this on the Carnival site. They are beating the RCCL workers by two. :D

I am a real estate agent, therefore I am an independent contractor and use my own computer even while in the office. so I play on CC while I am at work. I don't have a boss to tell me not too. lol.

I am guilty of reading the boards while on the clock but I never log in from work. Reading the posts just helps to suck up the last 30 minutes or so that seems to take 2 hours to pass. Can spy programs really see what I am doing?:o

I work at home. If I logg in and go to sew, and don't get back to CC, it just logs me out. I like to keep CC on while I'm working and check it for new stuff. I would think if your on the clock for someone esle, you should be really on the clock! I have a time clock at home that I use when I take a break or go online, or whatever, so that I only bill my customer's for the exact time that I work for them.

My hubby has never worked in an office, but one of his all time fav's is, "Office Space."

"That's my stapler!" LOL
