What do you get at the Lido?

I go to the NY Deli and order a Reuben, but made with pastrami instead of corned beef. I ask them for extra everything (meat, cheese, kraut, dressing) and sometimes the sandwich grill/press has difficulty closing. On the side I add a few kosher dill spears and some cole slaw from the salad bar. Then it's out to the fantail bar area for an ice cold beer (or several - did someone say "bucket of beer"?:D). I then grab a nice table with DW and watch the water go by.

You can also get good steak sandwiches and grilled chicken sandwiches at the burger/hot dog station.

In the deli, they will make any combo of sandwich for which they have ingredients available. I had them make me a grilled tuna on rye with swiss cheese...not on the menu, but they were happy to accommodate me. :)

According to Joe, playing the Newly Wed game on the Elation, you can "get some" on the Lido Deck. The question was something like Where and when did Whoopy change your life and the answer was last night on the Lido Deck. So I am not sure where but the Elation Lido deck sees some action.

Am I the only one who thinks the delis on Carnival are disappointing? My absolute favorite sandwich is cold deli turkey with havarti cheese, lettuce and tomato on sourdough bread.

But on the three Carnival ships that I've sailed that had delis, the only turkey they would offer me was warm roast turkey, like you get with Thanksgiving leftovers. This is NOT the same as what I can get at my neighborhood deli. (They couldn't even serve the turkey cold when I asked!) The only cheese I'm allowed to have is cheddar, and no lettuce or tomato. The only bread I'm allowed is a dried-out so-called "country roll."

I tried the reuben, too...same disappointment. A very flat, boring sandwich, with hardly any meat in it.

I think it's much better to get the BLT from room service. Now that is a delicious sandwich!

a deli (the Holiday in particular)?

The deli on the Holiday is a tad hard to find, but it's there, with the same stuff as the rest. It's (brace yourself) on the Lido, in the buffet area, near the back - just a small island behind the dessert station. Opens around 11a.

Another vote for the Goat cheese pizza. In fact. a total of 3 - a 2Ports family fav. :D

Nope, count me in...the De Chevre pizza rocks!! and on my next cruise, one of my "to dos" is to order the whole pizza at 3 am and take it back to my room@!:D

Count me in also. That had to be my favorite of the pizzas.
