  1. The menus were working for me a couple weeks ago, but not anymore.
  2. Thanks for the comments, everyone. I love the idea of taking a video. It did not occur to me. I did, however, add the incident to the survey after the cruise, just so they are aware that this sort of thing is. bothersome to other guests.
  3. Just got back from Beyond and can now confirm that they are charging for a second lobster tail. $16.99 for a 3-inch tail. Luckily for me, hubby was able to order one for me instead. 🙂
  4. We just got back from our cruise on the Beyond. Beautiful ship and overall a great cruise! My only complaint is that one night at dinner in the Cosmopolitan dining room, a large family group were seated near us. As soon as they were seated, they began to play some music very loudly using a bluetooth speaker. The whole group sang with it, as loudly as possible. When the song was over, they continued to play music on their bluetooth. This was very rude, and it greatly impacted the atmosphere, and our enjoyment of our dinner. None of the staff asked them to turn it off, even though there were several staff members serving the table. It frustrates me when staff do not take care of these kinds of problems. It should not be left up to us to either put up with it, or to have to confront them ourselves (which would not have gone well, especially with such a large family group). I realize the waiters are not going to want to confront, but they should have notified the maitre 'd, and then he should have done something. Did I notify the maitre'd myself? No. I know better than to tattle on such a big group. In fact, my whole point is that I should not have to tattle. It was clear to everyone around (including many staff) what was going on, and staff should take care of this kind of thing so that guests aren't bullied into accepting such rude behavior.
  5. I hate the decorative pillows too! I try to hide them but the steward always seems to find them and put them back. Those things never get cleaned!

  7. Thank you. I did look (in this thread and in the big thread), despite what you seem to be implying. Sheesh. Answer the question or don't. No need to be rude.
  8. I checked my email and the Power Up Points thread (this thread is way too big and might have missed it), and I can't find a link. Do you have a link to share with those of us who don't have it? TIA
  9. @dlh015, actually it's 45 days prior to departure. If you wait until 30 days, you'll be aced out of any early embarkation times.
  10. Agreed...I would add that I hate getting to the meeting spot on time, being shoved into the back of a bus or van, and then having to sit there endlessly waiting for the latecomers to finally gets their butts off the ship and to the meeting spot. 🙄
  11. That's the place (although the last time I was there, they had blue umbrellas up...maybe they take them down in the evening. Anyway, I believe you when you say it was open in April, and maybe even in November, but it was all closed up in September. Maybe they reopened, which would be awesome!
  12. No, I'm definitely thinking of the Office. We used to go there every time we went to Cabo, and we've been to Cabo many times. It's a whole different place now (we didn't go in). There is also the Mango Deck next door, which is extremely loud and boisterous, and always "hopping." Mango Deck is not our kind of place, and although we did go in and order a margarita, it was not good (it was from a mix, not freshly made like the Office used to do).
  13. Sadly, The Office is no longer in business. We always loved it, and looked forward to going there during our cruise in September (2022). We were disappointed to find out it closed due to the pandemic.
  14. On the other hand, it takes no effort for me to answer someone if they ask, "Going up?", so I don't let it bother me.
  15. At the end of our Sept. 24th cruise on the Solstice, when we got outside the terminal in San Pedro, it was bedlam. There was no line setup for cabs, no marked place for Uber, no room to stand on the sidewalk in any case...just a mess. Finally, we decided to walk the short distance outside the gated area and across the street to an apartment house, where we called an Uber and waited in the parking lot. The driver really appreciated not having to work his way through the long backup to get to the ship (our ship was the last in line for approaching vehicles) and we appreciated not having to fight our way to the curb to see if our car had arrived. Obviously this won't work for people with mobility issues, but for others, I highly recommend this!
  16. I've been reading that Beyond does not have a clothesline in the shower, and has only 2 hooks in the IV cabins. Would something like this work for me to hook over the top of the shower glass, for hanging my swimsuits to dry? If the shower door is too thick to hang the hooks this way, it seems I could probably hang the hooks upside down and use the small end to hang my swimsuit straps.
  17. It's always a bummer when someone gives their opinion, especially when the OP has asked for opinions, and other people tear them apart for their views. 😞
  18. I have Bose basic noise canceling earbuds that do not allow you to listen to music. They are good for sleeping, but keep in mind that they require an app with your phone (bluetooth). On my last cruise, a few weeks ago, I was not able to use them at full volume, and I think this is because I did not have internet, so that might be good to know. Because I could not get the noise-canceling sound to full volume, I could still hear DH snoring and other sounds such as docking the ship. They work great for home when I can use them at full volume to block out my neighbor's 7:30 AM lawn mowing. I also have noise-cancelling Bose headphones that I've had for a long time. These are comfortable, and the noise canceling feature is good for lessening airplane noise, but do not totally block other passengers' talking. You can use them for music or to watch movies on an iPad, but you need to use the cord (included) and a dongle adaptor for Apple devices (not included). I need to bring along batteries because they are not rechargeable. Finally, I have a set of Beats by Dre. These I do NOT recommend. Like the Bose headphones, they lessen engine noise but do not eliminate the sound of people talking nearby. They are fashionable, and they are bluetooth (convenient!). They are also rechargeable. However, they really hurt my head and give me a headache. I am a small person compared to most people, so I think they might hurt a bigger person's head even more.
  19. It's a 7-day. Does anyone know what nights would be the chic nights on the Beyond?
  20. We are sailing the Beyond in January 2023. Does anyone know what nights will be the cruise chic nights? Thanks for your help!
  21. Yes, I know. I was having a senior moment when I was thinking that 21:00 is 8:00. 😝
  22. I, too, on was on the Solstice Sept. 24th cruise, and contrary to the first answer you received, I believe they were 7:00 and 9:00.
