actually i subscribe to a cruise website called cruisestateroom.com where you can check on things like this. there's a section called FACT SHEET for each ship. I just checked the Triumph (my cruise!) out of curiosity the other day and it listed the drydock schedule (under the Maintenance Schedule section). The Triumph fact sheet actually said "drydock", but the Valor just has some dates in jan '08 -Feb '08 listed.......maybe it's dry dock too???

Here's a copy and paste of the Valor's FACT SHEET (see bottom for maintenance):

I know it is alot of information, but do you know anything about the Fantasy-Class ships that are supposed to go through the major renovations in drydock? The Carnival website states that Imagination and Inspiration will be the first two in the Fall of 2007, but that all of the Fantasy-Class ships should be completed by 2009.

Thanks for any information that you are able to share.

You can get it at http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/shipscarnival.php

Select a ship then click on fact sheet at the bottom of the page.

But again, they can only go by what information Carnival has publicly released.

ok yeah, this is the same website i go too, but i do the subscription version (mystateroom.com) that gives you a little more info (not as far as drydock info, just more cabin info).

i think the info is pretty good though and sounds like what you're looking for!! ;)

OP, this is a busy board, but you have to give people more than 4 minutes to respond.

Better check those post times again. :D

Hi guys...

Regarding questions about the dry dock schedule. I was interested in this as well, but couldn't find any valid schedule information anywhere on the web. So I went about it a little differently. I wanted to know specifically about the refurbishment schedule for the Inspiration, so I went to the Carnival site and selected the complete list of 2007 cruise dates for Inspiration sailings. Lo and behold, I found a 35-day gap in September when there are no cruises scheduled. By deduction, I figure this must be the drydock dates for the Inspiration refurbishment. You might try this method with the ships you are interested in.

The sole purpose of dry docking is to inspect the propulsion systems and hull... and to provide maintenace of those areas, like painting and such. Cruise ships are required by law to have this done at least once every 5 years, but no sooner than 3 years.

Refurbishment may or may not be performed during dry-dock.

This is the case with The Inspiration. We were originally booked for the month of September 2007 for our anniversary and then we had to change it due to the drydock. The frist sailing out of drydock is October 4, 2007!:) Can hardly wait!:D
